‘We can’t discuss Cyprus over coffee’

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Because by pretending you have, you deliberately take a neutral stance to the argument of those -who for their own reasons- want to translate our OXI to the referendum as meaning we don't want a solution.

I do know that the vast majority wants a solution, you're right. I am not pretending to have such doubts. I was only referring to what has been termed 'different shades of NO' to the referendum. Some of those NO votes were against any kind of a solution, and I know that because I've heard as much from some of the people casting those votes - direct admittances to that effect. I am not claiming that they are the majority, by any means - only that they do exist.

I hope you are not among those who start crying/ or piss in their pants, when someone simply raises his voice on them.

For better or for worse, I am, but only on this subject. I don't like intense conversations on this matter, as it is very easy for people to lose control, get carried away and say things they may not mean, and, what's more, are completely irrelevant with, and offer nothing to, the issue at hand - which, contrary to what you believe, I feel is a direct effect of raising the tones. You must have noticed the ease with which obviously quite educated and knowledgeable individuals with a great sense of humour like Insan, magikthrill and others resort to personal insults when the discussion becomes more heated - especially as you were the recipient of some of them.

P.S.: Insan, magikthrill and others ( ) I didn't mean to accuse you of anything or put you in the spot, and I apologize if I have. I would have no trouble adding myself to the list, if I wasn't hesitant in praising my own intellectual and sense-of-humour levels. Barring those qualities, I am right up there on the list with you guys.

"You know some strings can stand upto certain elongation. Then diiiiing! Next time I will be more careful with your strings".

Strings stand up to certain tension, ELONGATION happens somewhere else and perhaps, that is where your problem lies!
