TALAT REJECTS CHRISTOFIAS’ CLAIMS

Postby halil » Mon Apr 14, 2008 2:15 pm

TALAT SAYS IT IS THE GREEK CYPRIOT SIDE WHICH SHOULD PROVE ITS WILLINGNESS TOWARDS A SOLUTION, NOT TURKEY

TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat has said that it is the Greek Cypriot Leader Demetris Christofias who should prove his willingness towards a solution in Cyprus.
The President’s comments are in reaction to Mr Christofias’ statement claiming that the way to a settlement in Cyprus could not be opened if there was no change in Turkey’s policies.

Strongly rejecting the views of the Greek Cypriot Leader, President Talat said `as Mr Christofias knows very well, the Turkish Cypriot Side – with the support of Turkey - proved its willingness towards a solution during the referenda on the UN Peace Plan.

`For us, it is Mr Christofias – who presented himself to the whole world as if he was in support of a solution but rejected the Annan Plan at the last moment - who should prove his willingness towards a solution`.
The President also reminded that the former UN Secretary General thanked Turkey for its policies in support of a settlement in Cyprus in his report on the Cyprus issue, adding that Ankara is still today maintain its backing to a solution.

Whats new, they have never changed anyway. The recent rumblings was just a smoke screen to pretend to the world they really do want a solution, but we all know that they don't and are looking for excuses yet again.

I mean, check this, they invade us, ethnically cleanse us, rape us, desecrate our holy places rob us, and then have the F cheek to tell us it is US that have to ask forgiveness and ASK for a solution.

Oh and I forgot to mention the F 40,000+ troops that have us at Gun point.

F cheek if you ask me.

Let me explain something to you in very simple terms. The Cypriots are currently held hostage by Turkey and their demands will be so great due to the fact that they do not want a solution as it is not in their interests. In the end we will have another unfair plan that the GCs can not accept. :(

I hope you are not asking us to capitulate to these demands which is tantamount to handing Cyprus on a platter to Turkey?

So what was the meaning of the recent visits by the highest ranking generals in the occupied areas? Do we have to quote those assholes to prove the clash between their statements and the one by Talat quoted above?

I cannot be bothered to start copy pasting.

I am also thinking TC's and EU held hostage by ROC. Their one sided demands also so great that they don't want solution .TC's demand was very basic.
Bi-zonal ,bi-communal , politically equal ..... Guarantees of Turkey.
