Another example of turkish "civilization"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Deniz, your dream will always remain a dream if you are biased. Good luck!

One that sees a united Cyprus. Where all ethnic groups can live together in harmony and peace with equal rights, but not a majority 'imposing' their will on other groups. This seems a bone of contention with all groups as it involves a better definitio of so called 'democracy'.

I would like all refugees to be able to return to their homes/lands where practical, otherwise suitbly compensated.

For the short term I would like some sort of a 'guarantor power', if not Turkey/Greece/Uk then EU.

Total demilitarisatio of the island (if practical)

The fine details I would leave to the politicians/negotiators.

If none of these are agreed upon then my dream will evaporate and will have to settle for kind of BBF. Which imo will not take place as there will be many discontets who will carry on the '.struggle'.

That failing, it will have to be partition. My last resort.

I love my home as a whole and not bisected.

So there you are.

Now watch the fireworks.

The majority imposed their will on us when the "proletariat" elected Christofias....why should you be any different?

A fine example of the kind of people I talk about regarding 'democracy'.
The kind of people which will destroy our island and keep it divided.

DT, if thats what you want you will not achieve it with Partition. It seems you are eager to split the island. No TC politician will give YOU hegemony over us with that attitude. You are better off 'negotiating' this point. From what I see on the forum, this is a major stumbling block.

 :?
huh?
I made a remark about our new president. I'm not sure what you've taken it to mean.

If you mean that I believe in democracy in the sense of one person one vote then yes thats right. I do also believe that special clauses should be sidelined to require seprate majorities in matters that concern only the TC community.

I also do not believe in 2 racially pure zones

You alluded to Christofias' election, hence also alluding to the one man one vote. That criteria is giving you the licence of hegemony over us. That is a thorny subject which needs to be carefully studied by negotiators.

Every day I visit the forum there are hundreds of threads by some well known TC/Turks members that try to mock Greece & GC and yet you never say the things you said to me. Why? Even in this forum Halil & Gabira responded quite similarly and you said nothing to them. I hope I am understood. Good luck!

Kurupetos, there are a lot of badmouths on the forum, from both sides. What do you expect. Opinions will vary. I can respect or ignore opinions as long as they are civil. If you have not noticed I feel I am already at loggerheads with some TCs. I try to avoid confrontation with members as its a pointless task. Its crazy arguing with people who hide behind nicknames.

Have you ever considered that the two members were merely retaliating in kind to some of your more colorful posters. It has become a tit-for-tat situation.

I beg to differ with your opinion about me being biased, but that is your opinion and you are entitled to it.

Thanks for the 'good luck'.

These shameful acts occur in most of the so called civilised countries in the world. But then like everybody else why not jump on the 'Turkey Bashing' bandwagon.

All you need to do is to scan the front pages of all major newspapers of these countries. So whats new with you lot. Nothing.

Gunaydin Halil,

Dostlarimizi incitmek mi istiyorsun.

Its because of these news articles that I dont bother.

Also i ignore these kind of the articles Deniz,
but some how some idiots in this forum specially they gets happy , any thing to blame the Turkish nation .They never sees the horn .... which is inside the their eyes too . it was only reminder Deniz . Peoples must always must look first their own garden than they can talk about others gardens .first u must clean your own garden before you speak about others Deniz .no one likes this kind of the things to happen .

I hope you are also referring to Eric and Zan. They have jumped on the RoC bashing band wagon promoting hatred and permanent division of Cypriots.

Personally, I do not feel eager to bash Turkey but am mainly responding to Eric's antics which are so backward and anachronistic, you could say he is from another world. He is the backward baboon and not the Turkish people. Every society has it's good and bad, and I have to say Eric is one of your bad and definately does a good job in giving Turks a very bad name.

You have made a couple of hundred posts and I have made over 10,000 in the space of 2 1/2 years and you are picking up on things that you have no idea about. When I first found this forum there were only Greeks here and there favourite pass time was to call ALL Turks barbarians and spew racist remarks left right and centre...You have begun to harden after a short period...Think what I have had to endure to bring the forum to its present status where more communication between the two sides is happening. I still react as I see fit to those that want to blur the edeges on what happened in Cyprus and how you guys seem to think...You are driven by one thing only and that is the return of Cyprus into your hands...That dictates everything and all reason after that escapes you...

I had a wonderful night a couple of weeks ago with a couple of GC friends that came to visit me....We drank a few bears and discussed a whole lot of things and one was Cyprus......One of my wonderful guest was kind enough to confess that his father was on burial detail in the Greek coup and was witness to how many GCs were killed by the Greeks and how all those were blamed on the Turks. He also mentioned the list I found recently in which the Makarios supporters were to be killed by the thousands....Now knowing this, he still went back to saying that the GCs should just return to their land and the "RoC" should be run by GCs...It does not make sense....If you know what happened then how can you just ignore the facts and not expect some sort of change in the way things happen in the future.....One track minds......

So please read on in this thread and you will hear more realities that you will probably ignore and my dream for Cyprus is one of them..

Human rights in Greece are observed by various organizations. The country is a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights, the Geneva Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and the United Nations Convention Against Torture. The Greek constitution also guarantees fundamental human rights to all Greek citizens.

Amnesty International and other human rights groups have accused the various governments of Greece of varying degrees of human rights abuses, which were highest during the periods of rule by dictatorship, most recently 1967 to 1974.

According to Amnesty International's 2007 report on Greece, there are problems in the following areas:

Treatment of migrants and refugees.
Treatment of conscientious objectors to military service.
Failure to grant necessary protection to women victims of domestic violence or trafficking and forced prostitution.
The report also highlights cases involving arbitrary arrests in the context of the 'war on terror' and Greece's conviction by the European Court of Human Rights for violating Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights by convicting an unofficial mufti of the for 'usurping the function of a minister of a "known religion"'.
The US Department of State's 2007 report on human rights in Greece identified the following issues:

Cases of abuse by security forces, particularly of illegal immigrants and Roma.
Overcrowding and harsh conditions in some prisons.
Detention of undocumented migrants in squalid conditions.
Restrictions on freedom of speech.
Restrictions and administrative obstacles faced by members of non‑Orthodox religions.
Detention and deportation of unaccompanied or separated immigrant minors, including asylum seekers.
Domestic violence against women.
Trafficking in persons.
Limits on the ability of ethnic minority groups to self-identify, and discrimination against and social exclusion of ethnic minorities, particularly Roma.

need more ....... what we can get from it . nothing ........

our main subject must be Cyprus ...... Not Turkey ......

Hudey Hudey ..................................

I didnt see you telling that to eric dayi, zan etc. I wonder why. :?

Where were you when Sotos was calling us barbarians and saying we should be killed...Where were you when Kifeas said he was going to the gym to get ready for war......Where were you when this forum was a pit of GC racism.......Now wonder why!!!!!
