Halil, the key to a Cyprus solution is in Ankara despite what Talat and Christofias want to beleive. So when we talk about a solution, Turkey is an integral part of the discussion. As I said, a solution in Cyprus is totally dependant on Turkey's interests.

I did

How about I label the article 'Another example of Australian "civilization" '

Would that change anything ?

A criminal is a criminal regardless of nationality.

Your attempt to label a whole nation with ones criminal act is pathetic.

I was only politely and sarcastically exposing the hypocrisy of this thread.

These shameful acts occur in most of the so called civilised countries in the world. But then like everybody else why not jump on the 'Turkey Bashing' bandwagon.

All you need to do is to scan the front pages of all major newspapers of these countries. So whats new with you lot. Nothing.

Silly me. I didn't know that rape and killing was part of turkish hospitality. :?

This is a sick thread. The originator is almost as sick as the people who carried out the crime refered to..

Every society has bad elements. You'll note that the person said to have carried out the crime has been arrested, and all the papers are expressing disgust at the act.

SICK. SICK. SICK.

no secret about Ankara interest about Cyprus . They are freely saying it about every time . Point is you are not talking Greece interest about Cyprus . They are doing it under the sea.
Today Talat and Christofias was arguing at same topic by media . This is the Christafias and Greece Tactical movement .it is not easy to get away by saying we must talk with Ankara. You are making mistake sir. it is only finding excuse.

Where did I say that we must only talk wiith Ankara. I welcome the talks between X and Talat. But the bottom line is they can talk all they like. If a solution is not in Turkey's interest, then the Cypriots have no chance.

And I am not after any excuse for the talks to fall apart. My sincere hope is that they do not fall apart and I beleive the majority of GCs and TCs feel the same. However, the likes of Eric and Zan would love nothing better than for the talks to crumble. And if a solution does not serve Turkey's interest, then the only thing that will be served will be another plan that would be unnaceptable to the GCs and will not get majority support at a referendum.

have a look again what Talat said directly to X while ago.

The President’s comments are in reaction to Mr Christofias’ statement claiming that the way to a settlement in Cyprus could not be opened if there was no change in Turkey’s policies.

Strongly rejecting the views of the Greek Cypriot Leader, President Talat said `as Mr Christofias knows very well, the Turkish Cypriot Side – with the support of Turkey - proved its willingness towards a solution during the referenda on the UN Peace Plan.

`For us, it is Mr Christofias – who presented himself to the whole world as if he was in support of a solution but rejected the Annan Plan at the last moment - who should prove his willingness towards a solution`.

The President also reminded that the former UN Secretary General thanked Turkey for its policies in support of a settlement in Cyprus in his report on the Cyprus issue, adding that Ankara is still today maintain its backing to a solution.
