Pet travel in comfort!

What a great idea for those who have to juggle their hours!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let your pet travel in comfort

OUR four-legged friends can now to be pampered in style thanks to a new pet service launched on the island.

Pet Travel & Care will look after and transport cats and dogs to wherever their owners desire, such as the vet and beauty centres.

If an owner is away on holiday, the service will also pay a home visit to the animal in order to feed and play with it or to take it for a walk.

Licences can also be arranged and renewed via the service.

Transport will be via vehicles equipped with comfortable cages that will also provide fresh water and medical supplies.

Head of the service Mary Themistocleous explained that she thought of the idea after struggling to find the time to balance work and family commitments with the time needed to give her own pets the attention they deserve.

“Many owners neglect their pets due to a lack of time and this reflects in the
behaviour of the animal,” she said.

The service was launched one month ago and is currently operating only in Nicosia, although she hopes to expand in the not too distant future.

The Veterinary Services have provided Pet Travel & Care with a special operating licence, although it is currently limited to cats and dogs.

Similar services are well-known throughout western Europe, the United States and Australia, even providing air transport for a wide variety of animals.

Great IDEA!!! Our pet dod Benji is part of our extended family. We are not the typical Cypriot who has his/her dog chained up or in a cage all day. What's the purpose of having a pet if you cage it or chain outside all day...lMost cypriots are barbarians when it comes to pets. I'm sure I'll catch a lot of flack from pet owners who espouse this premise but I am definetely not one of them. My dog is my friend...he sleeps in the house...he has 2 beds and he is free to roam inside the house.

A lot of cypriots should take heed and realize that although they are animals they have feelings and give lots of love. It really pisses me off to see dogs in cages and on leashes 24/7. Why buy a fucki.. dog in the first place. \

I guess it's a materialistic thing...like buying the mercedes or bmw and living in a one bedroom apartment in the ghetto. You should treat your pets like you want to be treated.

I have read this report in a very different light to you obviously!

I have taken it that this business will collect your pet/s from your home and take it for its inoculations, shampoo and baths etc for and at your convenience. Let's face it, a lot of people (especially working) do not have the time to do this and when they are on their lunch-breaks, the vets or poodles parlours tend to be also!

I do not work so I have no need of their services and like you, our pets are house pets and not kept outdoors

I would reckon that the people you describe above would not give two hoots about using this service!

this is what i do for a living, although mostly i walk dogs while the owners are at work....byut i have taken them to vet appointments, drop off and pick up services at whereever they pet is, as well as take care of the pet (in thier home) while the owner is away. will also take in the mail, water plants, take out garbage---regular house sitting things.
i wish this Mary T. luck in her new business adventure. i made 3 times more money last year than any year i ever worked for someone in an office setting......

Amazing!!

I saw Pet Travel & Care’s flyer yesterday, they charge 12 Euros per visit (Pet Sitting) and only 25 Euros for the trip to the vet and back. (Where is their fuel cost?)
These guys are on in for the money, they are doing it for their own pleasure.

Well done Mary T.

I wish you all the best…………………
