Have never bought nor sold anything on this.

It is the refuge of delinquents as far as I am concerned ... or am I a fuddy-duddy with feet stuck in the car-boot? :?

If you shop carefully and research the seller (ebay provides a peer review history to do this) you'll find some excellent bargains on ebay. Give it a try with a low value item. To start I would recommend only buying from sellers within your country of residence who give you a pay by paypal or plastic (both these options offer (limited) protection) or pick up in person options.

Exactly.....I bought what was advertised as a Hi-8 video camera and when it came it was just a 8mm camera...I complained to the seller who apologized and said the mistake was genuine.....He gave me back my money and made me keep the camera.......

If you’re anywhere in the world including Cyprus, and wanted to buy a supercharged muscle car like they custom-build in the US, and as shown on the Discovery channel programs, you can only do it through the e-bay online auctions. That’s just one example of something hard to get but now accessible to the whole world.

I have purchased over 160 items on E-bay so far and sold a couple of items. I find it ideal if you are looking for old or discontinued stock (like classic car parts and antiques) amongst many bargains I have bought a brand new in the box BMW E30 water pump for ST£8.00 and with postage it cost £20.00 which is a fraction of the cost in Cyprus. I had an old rally odometer from the 70's which I put for sale and got CY£600.00 for it.

That would be me then

I've bought the odd thing, because I couldn't find the items anywhere else, certainly not on the high street. I've also just had a clear out of my sh*t and sold 7 items that I haven't used in ages and made quite a bit of money on them, otherwise I'd have thrown them away and lost out.

It's not for everyone, I agree, but you can find some very interesting stuff on there.

Yours sincerely

a delinquent :(

I sold loads of stuff on ebay before leaving the UK…

I managed to sell one VHS recorder for more than they cost in the shops!

My friend swears by e-bay and she spends hours on her computer looking (and getting in her opinion) bargains!

E-bay is not for me - though I do enjoy traipsing around the odd car boot and church fetes!
