Let me ask you guys straight...
Are you not happy about being called Ottoman Cypriots?

Not much of a theory is it?
What boomers was basically saying is that the bulk of the TC community to be found on Cyprus came and grew at a time when Turkey did not exist and he is right. Later, with the Treaty of Lausanne, the Brits gave the TC community the chance to leave and join the new "Turkey" if they wanted or convert to British citizenship and indeed around 10,000 left.

I see your problem in your first sentence - the bulk of the TC community to be found on Cyprus (who according to your strange friend do not exist) came when Turkey did not exist. If I look out of my window on a clear morning there is a great big line of mountains on the horizon which I and my non-existant friends think is Turkey. And when I go there I find a lot of people who think they are living in Turkey too. And to my surprise they speak Turkish.
Now, aboutthese imaginary GCs who came at a time when Greece did not exist ...
