Based on this premise, which i know many greeks believe, and since 99% of people living in Cyprus do not have blonde hair and blue eyes, is it not then beyond the relms of possibility that both TC and GC have strong Turkish ancestry?????

There are so many fanatiks in Cyprus, who have been taught so much bad history about the other side. I think it's pathetic.. we really have to move on from the past. But there are also really open minded Cypriots who have a lot of hope for the future.. Cyprus is the last divided country in Europe, that has to change.

There WAS NOT a genocide by any one against any one. Fanatics from both sides caused the death of a few hundred Cypriots , the same fanatics are amongst us today .
May I suggest you read Sevgull Uludag's book " Oysters with the missing pearls " It would help to understand what went on all those years ago.

Miltiades it wouldn't be right to put foward that the stuff going on was minor. The fact is that there was a strategy followed by the GC's to assimulate the TC's. Enosis was never a idea only held by a bunch of fanatics a large proportion of the GC's were in favour so was the government. Makarios never at any point said he was against enosis when critised that he was a traitor to the cause he would start boasting about it. The only difference beween Makarios and Grivas, was that one wanted to apply constant preasure to break us the other wanted to finish off the job in a day or two with fire power. The fact is that whatever the TC's did in fighting they never had or could do anything on a goverment level such as the GC's. One thing that denktas critises a lot about is the fact that the GC national council has up to date NOT withdrawn it's decision of ENOSIS. Can someone please shed light on this subject?

My dear Umit , you must not discard realities , that 80 % of our people consider them selves to be G/Cs , there is nothing sinister or unreasonable that 80 % of Cypriots were determined to push for ENOSIS. 1 WAS AMONGST THOSE 80% !"! I do not feel guilty at having had that inspiration. With hindsight however I , along with the overwhelming majority of G/Cs have rejected the idea of ENOSIS , not only rejected but fiercely opposed the idea that our nation would be part of any foreign country.

Miltiades it's understandable up to the the Zurich Agreement's , but from then on it's sinister you can't just create and close down a country like a dodgy business. It's the stuff that happened after 63 that TC's really worry about. Do you know about what denkatas talks about a decision taken by the National Council that calls fro Enosis that has up to now never been revoked or taken back at any point?

GC's like to talk about the TRNC being a dodgy setup, but when we look south we see a country with people that use the flag Greece everywhere and sing the Greek national anthem. So it's weird to talk about a common national identity, for someone like myself who has not lived through the old days it's very vague. I remember last year I was in Germany with some fellow GC's and a german girl found it very odd that we were Cypriots but spoke between each other in english, she was asking the same questions over and over again.

All this made me remember a program on PIK called biz ( us ) they were interviewing a TC that had left his villlage in 74 and he was talking about the events before leaving his village to head to the north. A GC man who was best mates with his father asked him to stay behind, the TC guy responds as to what he would do alone in the village without any of his relatives then asks he GC a question that goes " If I was to stay I would need to marry a GC girl, would you as a father hand your daughter to me for marriage? " and the GC guy responds to hims as "No" . What I mean to say is that whatever happens there will always be barriers between TC's and GC's , in my opinion instead of ignoring it both sides should learn to respect and embrace the difference as a fruit of the common identity of being Cypriot.
