Greek speaking Cypriots ought to raise their plight in inte

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Well GR, One thing I don't undrstand is that GC's talk about cyprus as a hellenic island but when we even mention a word of turkishnes we are guilty! What type of Cypriot identity are you all on about? One were we all sing the Greek national anthem under a greek flag?

partition = racism in my view because you are saying we are better than the rest of cypriots and we want to live on our own.

partition is racism because its not your country to partition

your country is Cyprus and so is mine

I have no regard for any Hellenic dreams that may exist out there I assure you.

umit I am sorry to intervene in your discussion with GR, but exactly what talk of Helenic Cyprus is there? The only time I am accused of Helenic propaganda is when am on this forum. No one is saying you shouldn't be proud of your Turkish heritage, I am a staunch supporter of cypriotism, however, when your press insists on refering to the occupied area as Turkish Cyprus it does not sound nice from this end and further if it said the Turkish speaking Republic of Northen Cyprus I may not react to it as much as I do when it says Turkish Cyprus. Not only are the Greek speaking Cypriots excluded by that but also Turkish speaking Cypriots. Makes the Cypriot fear real that Turkey is taken over and that is it.

read zaman today ..... it toattally contradicts what your leader Talat is saying adn as Turkey pulls the strings there is no hope of unification. yur ultimate goal is partition and the Cypriots fight is to keep their country free of Turkey. if you are Cypriots then decide what you want if you want Turkey then pls do us a favour and take up residency in Turkey.

as for unitedwestand...... fire all you like dude. being a humanist does not mean saying here you are you invited Turkey to invade our country and we are just going to stand back and watch that happen

I have never denied any Cypriot the right to Cyprus its resources nor equal rights. However when I read zaman which states Turkish Cyprus, I say crap to that and all the Turks that support that jsut as I would say that to all the greek speaking cypriots who supported enosis.

The Zaman newspaper is published in mainland Turkey, and is the mouthpiece of Fetullah Gülen, who runs an Islamic brotherhood and has a very specific political agenda. If you really want to understand what Turkish Cypriots, or mainland Turks, think I strongly recommend that you widen the range of sources you refer to.

Tim thank you for your message. I am was not aware that the paper is mouthpiece to Gulen, and for a while there I was not reading it. However I am a human being after all and when the alert came up I read it.

I am also aware that most TC's actually wish for a united Cyprus. I have spoken to several of them who share similar views and expressed the same for their respective communities. Unfortunately for me and them they too share my views that we are all Cypriots. To the desamay of some on this forum. They are people that I met just recently and I suspect will meet again when I visit Cyprus next and go over to their homes and I'll host them in the free area.

I still maitain, however that Talat is in a very difficult position and as such he is not able to act alone. Turkey on the other hand does not have an agenda of a free united Cyprus, to this end makes Talat appear hypocritical in his actions and speehes.

My stand on the Cypro has not changed. I believe that Cyprus is the home of all Cypriots regardless of their linguistic or religious persuasion, I exclude culture out because culture is for ever changing thank God. It also shifts within communities themselves, by this I mean you have the Turkish/ Greek speaking punk, gay, class based, aged, and youth cultures to mention a few. As there is only one Cyprus for all Cypriots then I believe that all Cypriots ought to have equal rights and opportunities and access to natural and other resources the Island has o offer. Whilst I believe all refugees ought to have the right to return many as have I have come to accept that this is not possible. I also do not agree on a separate TC/GC state but hey I have come to accept this sad prospect also.

I am neither a supporter of Hellenic ideologies or those of Turkishness. I believe that Cyprus and its people have been there for a long time and share more things that they do with their respective so called mother lands.

Every now and then I like to put a controversial post to get people chatting in doing so I forget and get emotionally embroiled in it. Please try not to judge me for that.

Cheers
Andreas

This is my mother infront of her ancestral home. We are thankful to the current tenant for keeping it in good condition. We would very unlikely return. But hey we would like the freedom to decide what we do with it.

Al, God help you...sorry in your case gay peadophile Ataturk, if Turkey gets into any other sort of war. It will be carved up and shared out into lots of pieces. Im glad you think the Turkish army is so great, it means you will get a nice shock when it comes up against a real army and not small militias like the Cypriot Guard or the PKK.

Well since you have it all planned out, i look forward to you and all other GC trying to do something about it shortly.

You are not just BIG AL , your most definetely a big bully too . Turkey , a nation of 70 plus million people teasing a nation of 750 thousand people.
Well well , I bet you cant wait to smell the blood of innocents dying on OUR island , the island of Cypriots not of Turks or Greeks but of Cypriots , that excludes you mate !!

Back on topic. How many years has this been going on ? International Community could not give a rat's arse. What have they done, nothing, because they see no resolution to the problem..
When Turkey enter the EU, problems will be solved...

It is a nice carrot to dangle. I think either way Turkey will become a member of the European family sooner rather than later.
