Regarding what issue???

Hello Erolz,

You are entitled to your own opinion regarding this issue. However, we do not recognize any "TRNC" and therefore the selling/buying of Greek Cypriot property in occupied Cyprus is illegal for this forum.

People seeking help on how to commit this offense should do so elsewhere.

Thanks.

And you are entitled to run your forum any way you wish and allow what ever you wish or not. However where has anyone sought help here in buying of GC property pre 74 in the North? I have not seens such acts, all I have seen is someone use the 'meet new people' section of the Cyprus forum to try and set up meeting some new people in (north) Cyprus and Piratis respond with a whole load of warnings about them buying property in the North. Maybe the section should be entitled 'meet new people - but if it's in the north then get a lecture on property instead'?

As I see it Piratis has blantantly taken a topic and used it to spout rehtoric at a new poster, offering no help to their query what so ever, and creating a 'non issue' (people asking for help buying property in the north) - a non issue in the sense that no one ask for such help. Is this really the puprose you saw for these forums or the section 'meet new people'?

I understand why this issue is so sensative to GC and why they consider it so important but if we are going to use every section of the forum to 'push' this 'agenda' regardless of what posters are actually asking and discussing then the forum will rapdily loose it's value to those that contribute to it in my opinion. If someone had posted 'what is the best way to buy property in the north' then the reaction by Piratis (and now sadly yourself to some degree) would have been an appropriate and predictable response. This did not happen!

Admin, I have to say I agree with Erolz on this one... I don't see that Erolz did encourage any illegal activity, he simply pointed out that the jurisdiction of the RoC courts does not apply de facto in the north (even if it is the de jure legal authority). I also agree with Erolz when he cites Piratis as being the cause of this unnecessary issue in this thread - which has no relation to property whatsoever. I try to steer a middle line on property matters as they're about as sensitive an issue as you can get in the Cyprus problem, but in this case the thread was simply about establishing a social network in northern Cyprus, not seeking advice on how to buy property there, and something this forum should encourage. To then have the discussion turn into something better placed in the 'Cyprus Problem' section was of Piratis' making and out of place here.

Once again Plebbie, if you bothered to read the thread, you'd see that I was saying much the same thing... Piratis made the issue and we were informing him that it doesn't fit in this section.

If you can't see that, get some new contacts, I recommend Nicos Lazarides in Lefkosia...
