I was there. It was terrifying to be at the receiving end of it. The irony is that it was not so far from the Lokmaci crossing point. Still comes back in a nightmare now and again.

Greeks are masters at inventing Myths and telling stories but their speciality is lies and propaganda. They are also excellent actors and can shed crocodile tears on command to draw attention to themselves to make people feel sorry for them.

Or should that be, they were, aren't any more because no one believes their lies or wipes away their crocodile tears any more.

The events described by Nikitas happened as he described them...Even Rauf Denktash has admitted it. He also admitted the bomb was thrown by one of his associates...Time for all of us to accept our part in this lunacy we call the Cyprus problem... :( :(

The problem with you and kick-a-poonokia is that you only see what the TCs did but never see or accept or criticise what the GCs did to us TCs for their ENOSIS dream.

You two can bend over as much as you want for your masters but the fact remains that the GCs wanted ENOSIS and we TCs were in the way and therefore had to be eliminated to clear the way for them.

The irony of your stupidity is that you know very well what they did and when I suggested you return to Cyprus and live in the south with your GC brethren you refused because you know what they are capable of and are shit scared of it.

Not true,Eric...I have many times talked about the injustices suffered by us during 1964-68 period...I have never denied the massacres purpetrated against the TCs...I have never denied the role of Eoka and the demand for Enosis in our present predicament...But I can also see the other side of the coin...the role of the British,Turkey,America and the TMT in the mess we find ourselves...My whole struggle is to find a just and lasting solution...We will never get there if we deny our role in this conflict...That is what worries me...And the fact that the alternative is our disappearance from this earth as a distinct community...Time is working against us. I wish the likes of you can see it as clearly as I do...

The fact remains that you hate Turks/Turkey and do not want to be associated with us TCs/Turks. You have given up your Turkishness and are ashamed of your roots. It's only idiots like you who believe that the "alternative is our disappearance from this earth as a distinct community" amongst our own people but fail to see the intentions of the GCs who really want to force us to forget we are Turkish Cypriots.

You are so stupidly blind that you do not (or refuse to) see/realise that by giving up your Turkishness and becoming just a "Cypriot" you are helping the Greeks and GCs eliminating the Turkish Cypriot community. You are genociding your own people you fool but you are too stupid to see it.

Shame that there exists people like you and kick-a-poonokio but thank God there are only a few of you idiots around.

Nationalists are all the same Birkibrisli. They only see evil in the other people and this of course is quite convenient for them, because this is the only way they can justify their criminal acts or thoughts.

You are correct about Denktash admitting (boasting, rather) his part in the provocations to stir up intercommunal hate. I also read his interview. Our nationalists did the same thing too. Like the bomb they planted by the statue of EOKA fighter Marcos Drakos. They were scheming together, for the downfall of Cyprus.

Back to the original topic of this thread. Yesterday, the official DIKO, at a meeting at one of their higher institutes, gave no cover to Nicholas Papadopoulos and Andreas Simou Angelides. In fact, DIKO fully endorsed the policies of Christofias. Remember, thse people criticised Christofias for the opening of Ledra Street and more or less said that he sold Cyprus.

It appears that there are two fractions in DIKO at present. One is run by staunch Papadopoulos supporters and the other by more moderate, Kyprianou supporters.

You need to stick to the issue at hand when debating and quit sobbing like a pussy all the time over other issues…

Are you now clear who drew first blood as Denktash admitted or should we start from the beginning again? :?

The text below was written by Paschos Mandravelis, one of the few serious Greek columnists. It is in Greek and thus I will only invite Greek readers to read it:

But while Greece fighter in the fields of Bucharest for the name of unspeakable neighbour, a quiet revolution is in another corner of the earth, where they lived real Hellenism and not the ellinogeni creatures from the outside Mr Anthimos. The revolution also finds sporadic with a few photos in the Greek press, but no deals. And that is strange: we are dealing with the Cyprus issue only when a solution is proposed, and every time a solution is proposed feel threatened. As if the problems are part of our national identity and that the settlement agreement would afellinisei us.

It was impressive, the few photos published prior to pave the road Lidras roadblock. A desert belt in the center of a European capital, and some pyrotechnourgoi with blue skin to the aponarkothetoun. Who would have believed that the dawn of the 21 th century, on European soil would be mines on the roads of a city? Yet this is not the most strange. More paradoxical still is that the last time we talked about the Green Line in Nicosia was when (in the Greek press) «generals wanted to put a ladder», in order to facilitate access of Turkish Cypriots to the free territories. He got to his feet kourniachtos lot and the challenge «» abandoned. Now that is not English in vain, but instead removed insidious mechanisms of death, there was silence. Neither a bravo to those who have decided, Mr. Christofias and Talat.

That is what happened with the school books. Nobody ever dealt with the major change in philosophy, with the fact that motivate the student to learn searching in the sources, that the unattractive and cluttered manuals text books they moved to rejoice to read. There have been intensive efforts, hard work of dozens of people who went to the checks. From a pedagogical revolution throughout (to agree: the deficits) in the collective memory will be just the scrum «». And, most importantly, he stayed awareness of danger: that somewhere there is a Hungarian-American, who blekei not by the particular book but another book, and resident of the first book wants to afellinisei the Greek. Mill-No, a farce, than those in Greece sometimes reproduced as tragedies.

But why is it so uncertain? Because in Greece national issue is only what constitutes a threat, or what was constructed as a threat and not eg Opening the road Lidras? After all, even if George Soros really has no other job than to afellinisei our children, there are tens of thousands of teachers and styluses to counter the attack «» in the field of ideas. Instead Ledra Street things are tangible: Some people are now walking that where there were mines. The problem probably lies in the driven by public opinion: some people make a merokamato (publicity or real) constructing threats, to the fight. The worst: sat (or tried to set up) entire political careers on national wounds. And mainly on threats. Actual or fantastic ...

Eric Dayi stated in his usual style:

"Greeks are masters at inventing Myths and telling stories but their speciality is lies and propaganda. They are also excellent actors and can shed crocodile tears on command to draw attention to themselves to make people feel sorry for them. "

I do not need anyone to feel sorry for me. I was just stating an experience. And noted the irony that the riots of 1958 happened around the Lokmaci area, where we lived, which is in the news today. THis much is recorded in all kinds of objective sources. You try to deny reality. You go off on an irrelevant tirade which raises questions about what you understand in people's posts.

By the way, a TC trade unionist was shot in that area by TC gunmen. Another one of those events that I witnessed while living there. So can you tell us Eric, was he pro Enosis too and is that why they shot him?
