Exactly brother, spoken like a true Spartan. In a couple of lines you have given the jist of the matter. You must be an ancestor of the Spartan Kifeas who is quoted as the builder of Lapithos. The word "laconic" came from the Spartans who are also known as Lacons. These were people that did not speak much ...

No Bananiot, Kifeas was the founder of Kyrenia and was a friend of Praxandros who was the founder of Lapithos.

I am not an Athenian or a Greek, I am a citizen of the world. ~Socrates

This is what the term globalisation is all about which means that Socrates is the founder of the concept??

Sorry MicAtCyp, I should have qualified that... I meant if someone GENUINELY objects for a valid reason... not if someone just wanted to be an arse and object for the sake of doing so and being an inconvenience... does that describe your motive?

Once again, it seems that rather strong terms are used to describe people in this forum.

Bananiot, you do have this habit of dropping into the forum and making sweeping statements as if they were fact. You seem to have an uncanny ability to read peoples minds and to deduce all sorts of things. I personally have told you before that until negotiations begin again, there is no real way of knowing the intentions of Papadopoulos or Talat or anybody else.

Although I don't really agree with the name calling that goes on in here sometimes, I tend to just put it down to the Cypriot mentality and people should be man enough to take it on the chin.

But anyway, I don't really see you making constructive debate. You don't seem to put views forward as to how we should move ahead except making antagonistic statements, belittling the views of many by implying that we are just stupid fools to listen to the likes of Papadopoulos or most other Cypriot politicians. I have never seen you criticise anything that Talat has said. All you seem to do is to believe that we should just follow what the big powers say and just accept our fate.

Depends which way AKEL decides to jump at the next elections I suppose. Plus TPap is getting on a bit... not quite Klerides level yet, but near enough... isn't it about time a slightly younger leader became President (and I don't mean Christofias  )

As for dropping an a-bomb, no way, it'd ruin a lovely island. How about a neutron bomb instead?

A neutron bomb IS an A-bomb (yes it's tuned to release more radiation than cause a huge blast effect).

And by the way, don't mention A-bombs GW Bush may get excited with the idea and just do it. I'm sure he wouldn't care... More than 100'000 Iraqis dead so that he can boost his Texaco earnings and help good ol' Cheney make even more money from Haliburton (he quit as boss but still retains shares isn't it?)
