I hate the sight of Centipedes, even Millipedes. In the village these Cypriot centipedes would be 6 inches long and lurk around the 'hole in the ground 'outside'toilets, and they would terrify me. The old folk would tell us kids that they would bite a hole in your skin and crawl underneath it all over your body. Have you seen the modern film 'The Mummy' and the Scarab Beetles. Aaargh.
I have seen them too, there was a large one under a big terracotta pot I had to move - I have heard they give you a nasty sting!!! But ı'm not scared.....................honest...............
