I suppose that's all ok - as long as you don't have to actually bother getting out of bed :-) But, for those who do need to work, not getting out of bed isn't really an option :-(

I just took on a new job this week with a starting salary of €1100pm for 30hrs a week.

Good luck with your job.

Are you happy with those wages?

Its not that bad if you consider it is just 6 hours per day 5 days a week.

For Cyprus - it's a good salary for a shorter working week than most people do, so yes - I am happy with it.

If you weigh it up with UK salaries and also take into consideration no tax will be paid either, it's actually a very good salary for 5 days a week. I know of others who are working 6 days and taking a gross salary of Cy£450pm.

I don't want to work 6 days a week and 30hrs is plenty to work. Unfortunately, I still need to work as am not close to retirement but I didn't come here to slog my guts out and the salary isn't the be all and end all. A reasonable amount of hours is fine and as long as it's less hours than I used to work in UK, all the better. We came here for a better lifestyle and it's a lifestyle I definitely want to get out of bed for ;-)

Aha! No - it isn't in a caberet

Sounds great. And all the best to you and I hope you have the lifestyle you desire.

Are you from the UK?

Yep you definitely don't come here for the money. With modern computers though, if you can land a job for a company in the UK (or anywhere really), and they allow it, then you can work from anywhere in the world. Depending what the job is of course. I am a computer programmer, so obviously that is one job that works out nicely.

Cheers
