How far should you sit away from the tv for a 50" plasma or lcd. Like how far is a good viewing distance? Thanks

I have a 37" LCD and sit 2 metres away from it. I still feel that I am too close to it. I would probably guess at 4 or 5 metres away from it.

I watch at between 3 and 4 metres.

Good for what? For general TV programs or for movies? For general TV then around 3-4 meters. To watch DVDs with any cinema effect then no more than 2.5 meters, preferably around 2.
