Sega wrote:Thanks LENA, it's always good to here some sense. :) My personal beliefs are, if your here for education, then you should be here for education. Not some mass business plan. You need the laws permission for that. You prove the point that many from India/Pakistan come to countries not for education but for the wealth/money associated with that.

Some people cannot afford to pay their fees and other experses or their families cannot support them. Its not bad to work and study but you dont have to go to Uni just to be able to work or put work above Uni when you are a student. Life is not always easy Sega.

If you can't afford it you don't go there Lena... simple!

So who ever is poor but able to work cannot have education right?

You study what and where you can afford. Or to use a Greek saying... "na ablonnis to heri sou os eki bou ftanni"

Get Real I was not talking about people who use education as an excuse to work in different countries but why someone who really wants to go to Uni but his/her parents cannot pay for him/her cannot go in your opinion?

You can get a student loan and go to Oxford if you can but be prepared to start paying up when the time comes... but you DO NOT go unprepared across the seas hoping to pay by working especially from outside into the EU!

Get Real sometimes loan is not enough to cover everything and since they can work why not? You had everything in your life GR??

Let me guess you believe that if you are born poor you stay poor you dont fight to fix your life better.

PS: Your spelling sucks!

Shit happens when you can't afford an education!

I have not been online for a while. I got this job and I work silly hours, not only that but I am currently developing a personal website which hardly leaves me any time.

Anyway, the reason I am posting a thread is to find out what all the commotion was about today. I was at work, initially I thought it was a parade, and to my amazement I saw a stampeed of presumably Pakistanies, or maybe even Indian, who were protesting. Most of which had billboards expressing their frustration. They were followed by Police as to cause as little disturbance as possible. They were all chanting "FREEDOM"

I could be mistaken, it could be TC instead of the Pakistanis/India's, but since they were very dark in colour, and wore somewhat Asian clothing, I would presume their were Indian/Pakistani.

After talking to a person at work he told me that they are students asking to be allowed to work in Cyprus. I thought this must be complete b*llcr*p. We all know for non-eu residence studying in Europe is very expensive. So why would a person paying x amount of thousands require the money from the well-paying Cypriots.

I believe these people are most likely opares, or the Sunday help who have probably been mistreated in some way or form. Who knows.

I would appreciate if you could all give your point of view in a sensible fashion.

this has been bothering me all day. i don't know why, but it has. why on earth do Cypriots need au pairs? it was pointed out earlier in another thread (on Community Service) that Cypriots take care of thier own....

It is called keeping up with the Jone's GG. The same with cars, cleaners and gardeners. I have never understood the reasoning behind having a garden and then paying someone to tidy it ..seems to be false economy.

Well, people have doggies and pay someone to walk them. Weird or not. Good for GG though.

You tell me, it also baffles me. I think it is so they feel important. My mother has 5 children, and she also worked during the day. She did not need an au pair.
