LEDRA/LOKMACI OPENS AFTER NEARLY 50 YEARS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

This is a positive Step! There is a will there is a way!

Piratis doesn't agree, he supported Papacrap and got nowhere now the new leader has show courage and determination and done in 10 days what the Papabastard didn't do in 4 years.

now,
you can all go back to the tenths of pages wasted on ledras opening in this forum, read your "arguments" and your fights, and tell us how important they were.

What's the euphoric equivalent of a premature ejaculation? :?

Ledras still needs to survive the test of time...

In reality it is just another crossing that has opened - bands playing / people hugging but give it a few days and its old news.

Just a little bit more convenient crossing by foot here than at Ledra Palace.

More crossings will open but the real work is working out a acceptable settlement that both sides can agree on. A long and difficult path - not a short piece of road in Lefkosa.

Precisely. I'll be surprised if the Ledra opening even lasts... not for political reasons but for practical ones.

Are you saying that now with Christofias you will give back what you stole, our country will be liberated from the Turkish occupation, and we will have our human and democratic back? If that happens then I will admit whatever you want.

But my guess is this: That you will accept nothing better than partition or disguised partition of the kind of Annan plan regardless of who we elect as president. We have elected 5 different presidents so far and the occupation is still there because you insist that the north part of our country is Turkish and you demand to gain land and power on our loss.

There is only one way to prove me wrong Viewpoint, and that is not opening gates so more money can flow to you, while we get nothing from what you stole from us and our country remains under illegal occupation.

So far whatever I said about you is proven right to the letter. Or maybe after GCs and TCs will mix happily in Lydras you will admit that there is no need for separation and segregation? No, because for you GCs are only good to be tourists in their own land so you can exploit them even more.

The ultimate goal should of course take into account what you are saying but we cannot achieve this over night its not like opening a gate. This is just another step towards building confidence and trust, I personally have been positively influenced by your current leader who appears to be more flexible and talks as if we to are his people. Because of his positive stance I am now more trusting and would be more flexible on certain issues that concerned me in the past and for which I demanded safeguards.

This is not to say we do not want safeguards at all but these can be for a transitional period so trust and understanding can lead to cooperation and a better future for all.

Could you kindly repeat what you said about me so that I may understand how you view the majority of TCs.

You appear to be upset about the opening as you feel it will benefit only the north, check the number of GCs crossing and you will soon find out which side is crossing and spending more, you guys still come over with your sandwiches so as not to spend money here. You only shit in our toilets as that is free, we are thinking of charging you so you then have to keep it in until you get back to your side, then you can shit and use your own water supplies not ours.

I support all steps of goodwill, but they are just that, nothing more.

However I believe that no matter how many steps of goodwill we make, you will never accept a solution of the Cyprus problem that will not divide Cyprus between "turkish" north and "greek" south, and where you will not have gains of land and power on our loss.

We changed 5 presidents so far, and the reason a fair solution was not found is exactly your partitionist position, and not who is the president of Cyprus. So reach an agreement with Christofias that will be a true solution and will not divide Cyprus into "greek" and "turkish" and where all citizens will be equal without racist discriminations, and when you do that then I will come and publicly say I was wrong and Papadopoulos was wrong. I am here waiting for you to prove me wrong, and I will be very glad if you pleasantly surprise me.
