Do you think TC should do military service in south?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I completely agree with Micatcyp on that one, the armies are the bases of all evil.

Guns kept at home for the sole purpose of killing Turks and Turkish Cypriots is the seed implanted in peoples minds that breeds evil and contempt.

Guns at home VP, are for the sole purpose of killing enemies in a case of WAR. If solution is found and armies get out from Cyprus, then all guns will be returned to the authorities. I am personally a good example of a GC who was raised with the strong believe of Hellenism and the idea of a good Turk is a dead Turk and the problems of being a refugee. BUT, as a grown adult, i can decide what’s good for the future in this place and for all our children, being a parent also. So my idea has changed and i see TC's as human beings and not monsters, people that can live with and cooperate for the common wealth of the island. I can change and i am changing, would you?
The politicians are always there to talk crap and you all know that. It's everything in our hands, the common people to find a way to disclose racism and nationalism from our hearts and move towards the following years.
Just imagine one day, the TSUNAMI strikes in Cyprus. , would we all forget everything and run like hell to save our selves????
Cheers and enjoy

Tarama I think you allude to a good point. God forbid, if there was ever a major natural disaster in Cyprus, I think you would see the barriers crumble as people strove to help each other. In such a circumstance, I think ethnicity and political differences would take a back seat, as they did during the earthquake crises in Turkey and Greece a few years back. Then perhaps, the more hardline Cypriots of both extractions would learn to appreciate that we're all human beings first.

Unfortunately for me the reverse happened, I was raised by my parents telling me greek cypriots are just like us humans but after meeting and mixing with them and seeing their attitudes and political suffocation, I questioned wanting to live with GCs and decided we should stay apart as we do not agree on anything and could argue for another zillion years and still not solve anything.

REPUBLIC mean:form of goverment in which the people or their elected representatives possess the supreme power. That show us not republic of cyprus only gc goverment because tc not elect gc goverment.

So, it would probably stop most TC males from acquiring an RoC passport.

So?

You can't see what it would do.I tell you what good would do stop TC andGC deserters to use each others airport to live the country.Yesterday I saw gc in Hobart and he was a deserter who use to Ercan to come to AUSTRALIA.He said he will apply to European Court of Human Rights on the basis the he is being prejudical and discriminated and he should have equel rights with the turks who had gc passport and be came citizen.
