TURKISH CYPRIOT WOMEN SENT LETTER TO THE UN CHIEF

Postby halil » Wed Apr 02, 2008 1:36 pm

The Intellectual Woman Platform in North Cyprus has sent a letter to the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to express their willingness towards a just and lasting solution to the Cyprus problem.
In the letter, the platform stressed the need for finding a lasting solution based on equal sovereignty of the two peoples on the island.

The letter was presented to the UN Spokesman in Cyprus Jose Diaz to be conveyed to Ban Ki-Moon.

The platform also expressed the need for the continuation of Turkey’s active and de facto guarantorship.

Besides 6 Non governmental organizations, 500 individual signatures agreeing the content of the letter were also presented to the UN spokesman.
