old remedies for snakes in Cyprus??

Postby tessintrnc » Wed Apr 02, 2008 9:28 am

I am researching for an article I am writing, about snakes in the garden. Does anyone know of old traditional ways of (supposedly) keeping them out of the garden? My neighbour said you should put a dish of water out for them OUTSIDE your boundary so they don't have to come in!!! Does anyone know of any other old methods or old wives tales regarding this?

Thanks !! :D

put around garlics to keep away the sneaks . How my grandma was doing.
when she was spotted any sneak at her garden . she was putting garlic bits under her door gaps . She was believing that sneak will not get inside her home.
have a good work Tess. i will try to find more.....

I have heard that the large black whipsnake should be considered a welcome visitor to the garden because it keeps down pests. It is also non-venemous.
