You don't have to iceman...These are my opinions and you have a right to say what you think. The war of words and actions is not over yet so the border is their problem until it is. They cannot have it all their own way....You seem to forget the trick they played in getting the Un to recognise them as the only government in Cyprus in which you have had to suffer all these years. This is the same thing...They want the EU to recognise that there is no border and then you can spend the next 40 years trying to convince them there is..........That goes for any other decision you might want to go your way. One will follow the other...We have lost every UN decision since that fateful day...Can you not see the similarity...Another trick gardas.

Try this one then you malaga

It isn't too often that Zan tells the truth, hence the name given to him, Pinocchio, but the above post captures Zan perfectly when he does tell the truth, as rare as they may be.

He is responding to his own post and very correctly, calling himself a "Malaga" with his own words
..."Try this one then you malaga"

It doesn't get any better than that.

New batch of immigrants tracked arriving from Syria
By Jean Christou

LARNACA police picked up another 46 illegal immigrants yesterday morning near Oroklini, half of whom were apparently spotted on a police helicopter video off Famagusta on Thursday afternoon.
The 46 immigrants, 44 Syrians and two Lebanese, were picked up in the early hours after crossing from the north and walking for two hours into Oroklini, police said.

Another group of immigrants was also being sought by police.
They had all come by boat at different times from Syria. A leaked police helicopter video broadcast on state television last night showed the tracking of one boatload some 19 nautical miles off Famagusta on Thursday afternoon.

The boat with around 20 people on board was spotted by the police helicopter crew just after noon but was in international waters and could not be intercepted.

Tracking the vessel for some three hours it appeared to be heading for the occupied areas, off Apostolos Andreas. The video also showed a Turkish Cypriot vessel with official insignia close by, but it made no attempt to intervene with the immigrant boat.

Police believe the 20 men on board the boat were among the 46 arrested yesterday morning. In statements at Oroklini, they told police that once they had gone ashore they had been on a truck for two hours to reach the British Bases, from where they entered the Republic.

1,028 Illegal immigrants in northern Cyprus
By Andy Ioannou 16.MAR.08
Northern Cyprus police have said that 1,028 illegal immigrants are currently residing in the breakaway state.

Most of the immigrants arrived in the port of Famagusta by boat from Syria.
Many pay a set fee to criminals, then quickly blend into society, either working in agriculture or tourism.
However some stay in hiding and are in constant fear of discovery and deportation by authorities.

Because northern Cyprus is not internationally recognised, it has been unable to fully utilise the 1951 Geneva Agreement and little support is offered to illegal immigrants.

According to statistics from northern Cyprus police, Syria, Iran and Palestine are the biggest sources of illegal immigration.

Many of those who arrive in occupied Cyprus quickly make their way to the free areas and claim political asylum.

...what is most revealing is the fact that the authorities in the north cannot, themselves, control who enters, and who leaves their Jurisdiction. If it is their desire to be a country, then I imagine that in ths issue there is a perfect opportunity to demonstrate the Sovereignty they have over the territory that is theirs.

clearly from the arguments presented by zan and vp, this traffic is being manipulated, used politically by the Turkish State to add to their adversarys' frustration, a kind of a tit for tat, for their isolation (and the fact that their EU membership stagnates). There is nothing wrong with representing support for the Rule of Law, without hesitation and on Principal . Acting responsibly does not provide immediate benefits; a Turkish Cypriot Authority which had done a better job at this problem, than there Greek Cypriot counterparts, would prove something about its credibility, and its ability to Govern. As such, it only proves a weakness in the arguments that are being made in keeping such a relationship, as this island's dwellers, mutually exclusivie.

Please try to understand RW and not come to silly conclusions........I have said this before you know.......It is part and parcel of the conflict. We cannot stop them for you and you cannot stop them because then you would be seen as controlling a border. The quicker we get a settlement the better for both. Thats the name of the game.
