I think the main difference is that the Greeks took other nations as their own (As long as they had something that the Greeks could boast about and use the Greek name for) and made the world believe that these people were ACTUALLY GREEK. The Turks, on the other hand, allowed cultures, religions and identities of others to flourish so that they could claim it for them selves and for their creed. Call it naive on the Turkish side but I think we will all believe honest.
What is it with you and Memes any way....Are yours small and you have Meme envy???

I’m not convinced that modern Greeks have inherited any of the above aptitudes if the incompetence they display today is anything to go by. In fact, modern Greeks are so distant to the ancient greats we read about that one would be forgiven, myself included, for having any reservations regarding any connections between the two.
Some time ago I wrote about ancient Greeks acquiring their alphabet from Cypriots, according to one linguistics scholar, and if this is proven beyond any reasonable doubt then this would have profound repercussions on all other alleged Greek creations and inventions…

Another thing that baffles me is that if you take a look at this forum of bilingual members and use it as a sample to extract conclusions you'll find that the strictly Greek members are not exactly the brightest of the bunch...
To close this off I feel that ancient Greece needs to be put under the microscope with even greater magnification by outside experts because some things just don’t seem to be adding up…
