Today the sun is shining, there is a slight chill due to a couple of much needed thunderstorms (now gone) and it's just cold enough in the evenings to still need a light sweater.

When i was out in cyprus in jan, we had nice weather i got sun burnt even though there was a chill in the air during daylight hrs, at night ouch that was cold, but it was nice going out for a meal by a log fire , and when we came home we had a big fire it was so cosy.

In oct 06 we just landed, as we stepped of the plane it was spitting of rain by the time we reach our car, omg floods everywhere. On the road to polis it was like a river coming down the road with trees floating down the road. It took us 6hrs just to reach our villa ,which normally takes 35 mins from airport. All that week was nothing but storms, apart from 1 day when we was chasing the sun around Cyprus in our car with me strapped to the sunroof. I did look funny as i got a tan with strap mark's all over me . I heard some people lost there life in these storms It such a shame much needed water then, but people life's were lost.

A close friend of mine who happens to be 2nd top man in the Union of Ports told me last night they are planning a Cyprus wide strike at both Larnaca and Paphos airports starting on the 14th and it will last indefinitely until their demands are met. They are doing this at this particular time as it is a very busy period for Cypriot travellers.

50 extra flights for Easter

CYPRUS Airways have scheduled an extra 50 flights to accommodate the increase in demand during the Easter holidays.

Specifically, the state airline has decided to provide an extra 20 flights to and from Athens (from April 18 until May 3), 20 flights to and from Thessaloniki (from April 19 until May 4), two extra flights to and from Iraklion, four flights to and from Corfu and four flights from Tel-Aviv.

In total, there will be more than 8,000 extra seats over the Easter period, while demand is already very high.

Students are expected to use up the lion’s share of seats, returning over the holidays to spend time with their families.

“The Cyprus Airways Commercial Department evaluates the data and demands on a daily basis and if it is needed, there could be even more flights,” an announcement read yesterday.
