Water Cuts

A couple month ago, I posted a topic on my neighbour illegally digging up paving slabs and planting some palm trees there. He now has 4 of them. I was asked NOT to poison the trees by a couple of members here, so I haven't, instead I alerted authorities who have failed to act on this.

This gentleman is using his hosepipe on a regular basis to water these trees which are now blocking 40% of my view I had. I guess when there are people like that watering trees, plants, pavements, regardless of us not having any water to drink, Cyprus WILL run dry sooner rather than later.

Can well believe that the authorities have remained idle - seems to be the trait over here!

Glad to hear that you did not poison them. Can you dig them up at all and put on his side of the fence? What do your other neighbours think?

You too should take photographic / video evidence and shame your council into doing something..............................

Good luck Hazza mou

The trees are huge. They hired one of those forklifts with telescopic reach to lift the trees into the holes. They are huge trees. One of them is just about touching the bottom cable on the electric authorities poles.

Is Hazza's neighbour showing him/her any respect or even the tiniest bit of consideration?

For gawd's sake Hazza get the acid out one night and then go and plant a dozen saplings on a hillside somewhere as a replacement to ease everyone's greenish conscience.

Have just witnessed a close neighbour being fined €100 on the spot by council officials for using a hosepipe to wash a car!

it's about time they started handing out fines!!! Was it a Cypriot resident or a Brit? Those same council officals need to come down to this end of the village, i hollered at a lady yesterday morning for hosing down the street. she just rolled her eyes and continued.

Members who witness these wastes of water should consider photographing them and posting the photos on the forum here for our judgement.
