Well, on a daily basis I still witness many people washing down their paths, watering their gardens and washing their cars - all with a hosepipe!

Remind me please - we are still short of water, yes?
The government did impose a hosepipe ban, yes?

This is really cheesing me off.
Does anyone have a number (police, waterboard, not sure who I contact) I can call to report these people? I do not wish to become the local nark, but this is now beyond a joke with thousands of gallons of water being wasted!
I will also be taking photographs to back up my phone calls

Does anyone have a number
I've seen it somewhere either on this forum or the eastern one. It does exist though.

Where I live, I see extra water tanks being installed on roofs all over the place. The water cuts are going to end up being self defeating.

I thought they were putting a stop to water hoarding ?
Let's hope the builders allowed for extra weight on roofs when building some of these properties.

It seems there are a lot of the outlying and more remote villages not having any water cuts at all .

I visited a small village on the outskirts of larnaca at the weekend and it's business as usual with the outsides still being hosed down .

When I commented about the water shortage I was told there isn't a problem in the villages only in the towns and they were blissfully unaware that Cyprus as a island was desperately short of water.

They perceive the problem is because of the tourists and understand that those are the area's suffering the cuts .

To be honest the mind boggles at the head in the sand mentality in both the governments attitude in solving the problem and the populace for their insistence in still wasting our precious reserves .

There are no water shortages in Cyprus. How can there be, car washes still operate, sprinklers still operate at 12 noon (never unserstood why people water grass at the hottest time of the day).
No water cuts in our village, farmers switch on the sprinklers at 5pm off at 7pm.
