Think the Turks are doing a better job of that than we ever did. 30 years more with the Turkish army and you'll all be gone (assuming you arent a settler).

Rebel there isn't a single Turkish settler posting on this forum, they don't really care for your views. It's the dumb old TC's that think that maybe shit can change.

I need a clarification. When you say you want quarantor rights from Turkey do you mean interference rights over the entire island or just the turkish cypriot state that will result from the solution?

OK, although personally I am against any quarantor rights from any third parties (just look back in CY history) that could be considered as possible for a temporary period.

People have not realised yet that we are running short of time for solution. If we say to Talat that we do not talk with you and repeat this to Erdogan, because we want to talk to the generals, then another 35 years will go by and eventually there will be no Cyprob to solve.

The situation in Turkey is far from ideal but this is not an option that we can change. Erdogan has today embarked on a life or death struggle with a law suit by the generals against him, Gul and his party. If he comes through, his position will be very strong and that of the generals much weaker. Perhaps, eventually the army will retreat to the barracks and allow the politicians to formulate policies. This may take a long time, provided the democratic process in Turkey is allowed to flourish.

In the meantime we need to be active and focused on finding a solution and adopt to the situation as it is now. I find it terribly cynical to approve that Talat has absolutely no say in the unfolding events. If I believed this I might as well sign the death certificate of Cyprus. I still have faith in people and believe that Talat is a sincere person who is doing his best, under the circumstances.

As to the people calling him Toilet, the joke is on them.

The fact is kurupetos that TC's feel that the GC's will not pull any tricks as long as they know 74" may repeat itself. TC's are scared about the fact that GC'S will change the goal posts on the account that it is "unworkable" as they did in 63.

I feel the same Bananiot. It's NOW or NEVER. I am worried about how much Tpap is on the scene thow when we see that his foreign minister Yakovu. One thing for sure is that NO ONE should expect us to be in the same place a few years from now.

Something worries me immensely. At present the Turkish Army occupies a good deal of the Island and it has done so illegally as it clearly had no intention of restoring constitutional order (as per Zurich agreement) in the first days of its Piss Operation in '74. I do hope that no one is seriously considering extending and formalising the presence of this murderous, raping, take no prisoners - cuff them and shoot them in the head army in any part of the Island because its dark power and influence would extend across the whole country and of course if Pres X is foolish enough to agree to its presence it would be there perfectly legally. Beware.
