GENERAL BUYUKANIT UNDERLINES THE NEED FOR ENSURING SECURITY

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby umit07 » Mon Mar 31, 2008 2:27 pm

Well Phoenix it is the soldiers job to hold the guns and the politicians to talk.

I didn't find the comments too bad. All he is saying that the troops aren't gonna pull out the next day. Anyone expecting this would be stupid anyway. If a deal is broken eberything will be on a time scale.

BTW I heard on TC radio today that Chritofias said that "We can't expect not having any guarantorship treaties but we will insist that there be a consensus between the powers " Is this true?

Kikapu had written in his comedy how Talat was caught between the RoC and a "hard place", seems the hard place has a name: Buyukanit.

But I got to agree with the general on one point, the need to explain the plans the two sides are working out in DETAIL! No more secret diplomacy and cryptic statements to the press, please! We had 34 years worth of those.

You are correct Nikitas. I wrote that Talat said "I'm stuck between a Rock and a Hard place, or between a "Greek" and a Turk"

How true.......

Nikitas wrote:"If a political settlement is reached in Cyprus and this is followed by its successful implementation and the ensurance of the security of the Turkish Cypriot People, then this is when we will think of withdrawing our troops"` the General said.

For some reason that sounds a lot like "never" should one side decide to cause even a mini riot. Bananiot should read this.

Never mind Bananiot, that is exactly what is says. I see no deal under these circumstances. I think Denktash is regretting ever calling in Turkey. Even on the fifth day of the landings he was wondering if he had done the right thing.

The secretive third hand that is the Dark Force of the RoT with its expansionist dreams and its army rears its ugly head. The real power in the north shows its hand.

....Embargoed from the north by the Dark Force of Turkish Expansionism

HE still believes 'TRNC' is a sovereign state lol.

Besides of the fact that what its based on breaks numerous UN laws - how can it be sovereign when its run by Turkey??
