Hello everyone

I am delighted to tell you that the Network Cyprus website is now live.
Please log on at www.networkcyprus.com.

Click on the Anti-Pet Poisoning Campaign link. Add your name to the online
petition on that page and register on the forum.

Also, if you have had personal experience of pet poisoning, please record it
on our Incident Report Form.

The website is the first step to creating a properly co-ordinated campaign
to stop the illegal use of these poisons. Please pass this email on to all
interested parties.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

Audrey Lowery

How will you verify genuine cases of poisoning?

Unless a vet has certified poisoning it would not be accurate to take people's subjective views when a pet has died unexpectedly.

Also hoaxers would need to be identified in order to gain any meaningful statistics.

The petition to make poisons more difficult to attain is a great idea and I would sign such a petition ... but not online as they are ineffective.

This is a new area for me ... I will give it some attention and decide on the best way forward ....

I am really proud of how Cyprus is dealing with Turtle conservation issues though, and I am sure given the opportunity, legislation would sort this problem out too.

The petition has to be absolutely watertight to be effective though....

I don't pay lip-service.

But I am really interested .... as I hate profiteering pharmaceutical companies that won't move into the 21st Century .....

Banning lanate to stop people poisoning domestic animals is like banning UK citizens from holding firearms to prevent gun crime…

Take action on those that do the poisoning, not the tools of their trade.
