Banning lanate to stop people poisoning domestic animals is like banning UK citizens from holding firearms to prevent gun crime…

Take action on those that do the poisoning, not the tools of their trade.

Don't care how it's achieved so long as it takes the stuff off the street and out of the hands of irresponsible idiots.

Limiting it's sale, distribution, possession and use to only properly licensed and regulated pest control professionals would have a major positive impact on the amount of this stuff in circulation.

By licensing the above and introducing the corresponding criminal offences for contravention the police and the courts would have the tools to prosecute the cruel b'strds who perpetrate this act (being a dog owner I'd take rather more drastic action myself but hey ho ...).

Will keep checking and sign up when the sites available. Can't do any harm and it may put pressure on someone.

Failing that will keep telling everybody I know that it's a big mistake to bring domestic pets here.

Well if you had 1 just 1 brain cell, then you would see by baning this horrid stuff it would be very hard to BUY. They could not bring this poison into Cyprus COULD THEY, as it would be banned. To sort such a problem out, you may simply have to offer safer alternatives to farmers to use instead of Lanate / poisons ... have somebody visit the Co-Ops or even schools to tutor responsibility .. etc.
