GCs travveling to Turkey.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

GCs travveling to Turkey.

A question to GC friends.

Now that the green line passings are allowed I know many TCs travel using the Larnaca airport since it avoids the stopping in a Turkish city.

Can you guys do the opposite and travel to Turkey using Ercan in the north? Do you need a visa to get in to Turkey? I am just curious.

There are many GCs flying from Ercan to Istanbul I travelled to Istanbul last week and saw a few GCs on the plane, loud as ever.

Yes GC can travel to Turkey via Erjan. The 'first' GC to do so was prosecuted in the south, I believe on the basis that on his retiurn he had enetered Cyprus via an illegal port of entry but the attorney general threw the case out as I recall as they have thrown out all cases involving this law. As I understand it the AG position is that this law can not be enforced on EU citizens and thus can not be enforced on anyone. The law remains but the AG has made it clear that prosecutions based on it can not be made. Welcome to the EU.

Relevant Cyprus Mail article here

and one for non EU nationals going from North too South.

Basically since entering the EU the RoC can not prosecute people under this law. Not EU citizens (because they agreed they would not / could not as part of accession) and not non EU citizens as that would be a discriminatory law. This is one of the areas that you have lost effective sorveignty on by joining the EU.
