The most racist thing though is what you demand: That 100s of thousands of people should be ethnically cleansed from their homeland where their ancestors have lived for 1000s of years, in order to create some separate state for you. I should remind you that we didn't import Turks in Cyprus to be used as slaves or anything of that sort. Turks came to Cyprus as invadors, and that is how their minority was formed on our island. If you don't like the fact that you are a minority here thats really not our fault, and thats not an excuse for you to take our land.

We are more than willing to to live all together in one united Cyprus where all Cypriots are equal regardless of their ethnic background.

The populations in N. Ireland are more equally balanced. 41% catholics, 59% non- catholics, mainly protestants - unless someone knows different. Personally I would be quite happy to share power with such a minority on an equal basis but equality with a minority of 18% is unfair and undemocratic. And, in anticipation of the usual, "but that's what you agreed in 1960" response I say "bollocks, we had no choice" we were told by the departing colonial power to accept or face partition. The Turkish Cypriots just can't seem to get it into their thick heads that it was the fact that they were given excessive power and privilege that was the root cause of the post 1960 troubles. CYPRUS WAS THE ONLY EX- BRITISH COLONY NOT TO ACHIEVE MAJORITY RULE AT THE TIME OF INDEPENDENCE - WHY?

(It was not true independence since three countries were given the legal right to interfere in the island's internal affairs)

Nothing to do with ENOSIS then and the fact that those powers where given to us because of that and not because someone was being unfair.......

Well that explains your point of view. So the decisions were made just to spite the Greeks Mate! Every plan that has been made is to stop the recurrance of what happened on other islands of simular problems like Crete for example.
