How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I know very well what is there... my family's occupied house and land is about 1km from what use to be a 100m strip of eroding tarmac abandoned by the British, and surrounded by a couple of pig sties.

And THAT gives you all the information you need on Ercan airport and avionics?

Interesting, is it the family home or the pigs?

They probably do until they read your boasting broadcasts to millions about how many luxury cars you own... keep em coming!

The reality it's not illegal under any rules to fly there.

Don't make BIG statements or I'll have to embarrass you again and you know how that hurts...

Yep. We must also not forget that the land is stolen and one day the rightful owners will return.

My orange producing friend, if there's ever a war I'll be right at the front of those attacking the airport... call it what you want to, I call it personal!

...and btw, I'd better FIND a house there!

You seem to be a little obsessed with Ercan Airport and its status. There is no doubt that once a solution to the Cyprob is found, Ercan will remain in some capacity.

You can quote all the acronyms you like, be it ICAO, FAA, FIR, NOTAM, IMC, MSA, RPT, IFR, NDB, VOR, ILS and whatever else, but the fact remains that thousands of people currently fly in and out each month.

If as you say it needs to improve in certain aspects then improve it will.
But to say

.......there will be no direct flights ever

is stretching it a little imo.

In another thread on this forum, you even denied that baggage at International airports destined for the TRNC was labelled up with ECN labels.
http://www.cyprus-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=16709&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=80

Whilst you are certainly knowledgeable in the aviation field, stop worrying yourself so much about Ercan. You never know, you may even land there yourself one day

I would like to see one of these baggage labels issued by any authority other than Turkish airports.
And, I am still waiting for all those Terminal charts, and approach plates. Someone must know a pilot somewhere that can provide them. Please post them on this forum.

You are joking about the above. Seriously, you are joking :o :?:
(apologies for using a little of Oracles colouring :D )

No I am not joking. I have stated previously that I do not believe that anyone can issue these tags due to non recognition of ERCAN. I am not insisting that I am correct, I just wish to see one as I have my serious doubts.

I'll see if I can take a picture of these ECN tags at Stansted next week for you when I fly to Ercan.

Alternatively, you must have connections so why not ask BAA to see if they can convince you that ECN baggage tags exist and are placed on items destined for the TRNC.

Thanks for that. I look forward to the pictures.

I do not work for BA, but I will see what I can find out. Also BA do not fly to ERCAN (as no one does), but as for issueing the tags, I am not sure if this is possible unless there are other connecting flights with Turkish Airlines to ERCAN.

I also look forward to see the ERCAN terminal chart and all ERCAN approach plates. Only Turkish pilots would have these as they are not available from any international organisation such as Jeppesen.
