And just as I suspected, ERCAN has no Instrument Landing System (ILS), VHF Omni Directional (VOR), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) or Non Directional Beacons (NDB). These means that all aircraft must carry enough fuel to divert to an Alternate Safe and Suitable Aerodrome if required. They can not do non visual approaches, only visual. So in inclement weather, aircraft are required to divert especially as there is also high terrain nearby.

I am just pointing out that the facilities at ERCAN are visual only and are therefore substandard.

Pafos and Larnaca on the other hand have ILS, VOR-DME, and NDB approaches, as every seroius airport should.

So forget about providing the approach plates, as they do not exist.

Sounds like you are finding it hard to stomach Paphitis, like the TRNC Ercan may not be recognized by other countries but this does not mean it does not exsist and thousands upon thousands of people land their safely every year, get used to it, its your country which insists on it not being recognized as punishment for wanting what you have our own country. Another fact that will make you feel even more sick is that we even have direct flights from the UK when there are no passengers getting off in Turkey, you have to realize that we are willing to have 10 times more islaolation as the TRNC than concede to being forced into a minority status in a GC state run by GCs.

And all those flights are breaking international (ICAO) aviation laws. They are not permitted to enter NICOSIA FIR, without permission from NICOSIA Air Traffic Control.

Yet they do every day, the north does not give a shit about your Nicosia FIR, flights will continue to stick the middle finger up at you everytime they land, how does that feel? if you have the leglalites on your side use them to stop flights lets see it, all talk no action.

You are not only sticking the middle fingure up to us, but you are also sticking it up to ICAN, UN, EU, UK, US and just about every other nation that exists in the world today.

Your flights are in the same category as the Columbian Drug Lords aircraft which traffic drugs throughout Latin and North America. Both your flights and those Columbian Drug flights are just as illegal as each other.

There is nothing illegal about the flights...If you have any evidence of this please post them...

B. WESTBOUND, continuing northwards into Ankara FIR
1. In Damascus FIR, before passing NIKAS:
Primary station is Damascus ACC. No need for advance call to Nicosia FIR unless request
to that effect received from Damascus ACC.
2. At NIKAS:
a. Transfer control to Nicosia ACC.Control authority remains with Nicosia ACC until point VESAR.
b. Call Ercan on 126.70, [/color][/color]pass essential flight details for relay to Ankara ACC.
Note: Any Flight Level changes made thereafter under instructions from Nicosia ACCmust be communicated at once to Ercan Control for relay to Ankara ACC.

Now that looks official instruction to me.

And point VESAR is north of Kyrenia - where Nicosia FIR finishes and Ankara FIR commences.

So if Ercan not accepted why mention it in this OFFICIAL document????

Looks like a clear instruction to me as suspect if they don't comply Ankara will turn them away.

Negative. The document clearly specifies that aircraft must only comply with Nicosia FIR. Only position reports to be communicated to ERCAN, and this is for safety concerns, otherwise there is potential for a mid air with a Midnight Express bus.

So why is it that the wife and daughter of the importer have been arrested yesterday - they went to Greece to buy the drugs there and pack the drugs prior to import to the South.

THE WIFE and daughter of the 60-year-old truck driver caught transporting one of Cyprus’ biggest ever drugs finds were yesterday remanded for questioning, police said.

The women were remanded for three days. It is believed they had recently flown to Greece where they arranged the purchase, packaging and dispatch of 210 kilos of cannabis from Piraeus to Limassol.

They are related to Loucas Siderenou from Sotira village in the Famagusta district, who was arrested on Thursday afternoon in Nicosia as was transporting the drugs.
Police were yesterday planning to search the 60-year-old’s home and grounds, where investigators believe they could uncover a second drugs stash.

Siderenou and a second 53-year-old Nicosia man, Costas Constantinou, are currently in eight-day custody in connection with the case. Father and son George and Stelios Vouniotis are also being held for three days.

But fact is ercan is clearly indicated in the document - so if not accepted as you keep on indicating why mention. OK can understand safety but the iinstruction "must" clearly shows it an entity.
