UK IS IN FAVOR OF A SOLUTION IN CYPRUS

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

You don't know what they have at Ercan - as I have never been diverted and have never heard of any diverted flights.

But as sure as eggs is eggs - direct flights will come to the TRNC.

He asked us to give Christofias a chance but he would judge him on his actions and not just the fact that he had "deposed" Tpap.

Apart from that we gave him an easy ride as it was his first meeting with us.....

Thank you for expanding on what was said - not what some want to here. But looks positive.

This was about all he said. He left us angry really because he failed to answer any real questions. He did a double act with Joan Ryan and mumbled his way through and left me with a head ache trying to hear and understand him. As I said, we were respectful and polite this time around but the next time will be harder for him I am sure. As to his own words....We will judge him on his actions

Having said that Joan Ryan seems to be a lovely person but a politician none the less.

And that sounds like he was just pulling your legs, because he knows that direct fligths from The UK will never happen.

With a solution or without direct flights will happen. So many in the EU and USA are talking about the isolation of the TRNC.

The reality it's not illegal under any rules to fly there.

What will GC's do if there is direct flights apart from moan and cry about it. Think OIC countries will be the 1st followed by UK and Germany then Russia.

I would like someone to post ERCAN airport information, including any radio navigation beacons and all instrument approach plates. The only authority that would issue these are the Turkish Aviation Authorities.

I have asked Jeppesen (worldwide supplier of aeronautical charts and navigation data) to supply them to me, and they said that they do not know of ERCAN airport. In other words it does not exist on the world aviation map.

Is that all you can say? Can you please enlighten me with those approach plates. I am very interested in analysing them.

Do you have any IFR (IMC) approaches to ERCAN? You argue with me as if you are in the aviation industry and would know what you are talking about!

They will not be talking about your isolation when the peace talks fail due to Turkey's intransigence, because the whole world knows that President Christofias wants peace and a solution.

Just remember, T Pappadopoulos is gone now, so you will not be able to hang that on us again. Turkey will be back on the guilty stand in no time.

It is illegal to violate Nicosia FIR for starters. And every aircraft arriving into ERCAN violates the NICOSIA FIR, the boundaries of which are set by ICAO and includes the airspace over ERCAN.

I did not ask for the weather report (METAR and TAF) at ERCAN. I asked for the ERCAN Terminal chart and any Instrument approach plates (charts).

For example, if there are any NDB, VOR or ILS approaches.

I have already stated that ERCAN does not have an ILS approach which means that arrivals in bad weather and low visibity are compromised and must divert to a safe and suitable alternate. Prove me wrong!

Who knows what Ercan has - but I in 8 years have never heard of a plane being diverted. And there are about 12 landings per day.
