Bananiot wrote:Miltiades, I am so glad you discovered Sevgul. I have no doubt that when the dust settles and the cyprob is no more, people that would stand out would be people like Sevgul, Paraschos, Droushiotis, Tziampazis and so many others who have devoted their lives to the unity of Cyprus and all the Cypriots.

Thanks to Halil I discovered Sevgul , nothing in that book surprised me or made me re assess my views since they are concurrent with all that I have believed and still do. She is indeed a true Cypriot who wants the people of Cyprus to re examine their views and to reunite .
I find this paragraphs on page 189 rather poignant .

" Are we ready to bring down the walls inside our minds, implanted in our brains , damaging our thinking, our personalities , our attitudes towards life . Are we ready to accept and admit the mistakes of the past in order for our children to be able to the future without the burden of the so called Cyprus problem ""

Aidan

Don't get mixed up with this illegal organisation ...

BAYRAK are the propaganda loudspeakers for the criminals in the "TRNC".

I am sure they produce many books they would like to disseminate to the unwary.

Aidan, Sevgul is a giant. A giant of love, passion, dignity, cypriotness. Do not confuse her with little pathetic poisonous minnows.

I shall refrain from using my so far colourful language in order to describe ""the little pathetic poisonous minnows. ""

I have desisted so far in responding to two forumers who on this thread have asked that I fuck off !!! They did so out of respect !! knowing that at 62 and a grandad of two Cypriot children I would decline their request to F Off !!

I worry about the increasing and unrestrained mob mentality that seems to be permeating throughout the forum ...

Like all idolatry .... there is a sadness at seeing the loss of reason and logic shown by the idol worshipers ..... who throw caution to the wind regarding facts, figures and data ........ and believing instead in a myth, a legend ...... an idea, exalted in the minds of the pathetic so that they could raise themselves, if only briefly to be amongst the gods ...

Wake up people ... Uludag has done a lot to raise awareness at the plight of women in the "TRNC" ........ but her job has been wasted from what I have witnessed coming out of the mouths of the likes of iceman, halil, etc on this forum.

I have to admit I'm not acquainted with this T/C lady and until I read her book Oysters with The Missing Pearls was unaware of her existence,. I was intrigued and fascinated by her unbiased and utterly Cypriot sentiments and felt very proud that my beliefs in the Cypriot race were not a figment of my imagination and that a journalist , a T/C lady shared all of my sentiments.
For all I know to most Greek and Turkish Cypriots this author journalist is well known , I wonder how many have read her book . I beleive that should Zan or Oracle were to read this book , would instantly embark on a major reassessment of their views on the Cyprus problem . I know that neither Zan, nor Oracle have laid eyes on this fascinating collection of real stories by real Cypriots as presented in this book.
Comments please.

I will first of all congratulate you on your grand child......

I have not read this book but will pick up a copy of it as soon as I can. I have no doubt that it will not change a single thought in my head because I have only one issue and I am sure that this book does not cover it. If it does then please post it......Does it say any where in there that we, as TCs should give up our fight to get back our rights under the Zurich agreement? Does it say that we should fall for the tricks of Mitiades, who asks us to do so? Does it say that the "RoC" is legal and should be recognised by us?

I have always acknowledged the suffering of decent and innocent people on the island and wish no one any harm or further pain unlike you who proposes that we give in to the actions imposed on us in 1963 at gun point and accept the fait accompli of being thrown out of government.

What the book is asking us to do is to forget and get back to civility and legality but you, as usual and in your assassins way, choose to use it to try and convince us to take your poisoned sweets and let go of our rights. You think you are so saintly that we should just take your word for it when you have done nothing to redress these wrongs against us. In stead you promote the idea that we have no rights under the Zurich agreement and that we should allow our culture and our very existence to be put into the hands of the GCs. Who ever has heard of the Turks on Create, except in some flash instances and or bad light. We will not allow that on our homeland Miltiades so don't ask. You still have not given any idea of a fair solution but you push the "RoC" party line. Keep it to your self old man.....We have no need of it....You are no better than those bearded Muslims that you so love to hate, in that you take a wonderful book and corrupt it with your ideals. When you learn to not only forgive but to also repair and stop using this book to further your "RoC" intentions of dominance then I will be by your side as a Cypriot and not the false one you declare.

Dear friends Bananiot , Miltiades and others........

keep on ...... ignore these ones only ...... this is their last fussing about...

trust is very important between us .

what we are having now is good sample of the trust.

have a look ; Turkish Cypriots wants Turkey guaranties , Greek Cypriots wants no guaranties .
TC's wants political equality , GC's wants majority domination ......

why , why , why ....... both sides doesn't trust each other.....

to trust each other we need more contacts and more friendship to understand each other .... than we can build up the bridges...... than we can break the walls between each other.

Without taking notice of these idiots we will meet and talk and eat and drink together .... we will spread these events through the our families and kids and grandchildrens and these idiots will see it .

We all knowing that both sides wasnt innocent.
