I'm sorry for the family you have lost Kifeas... But you lost them from TURKISH TROOPs. I lost them from our brothers... the Greek Cypriots.. it's not so much about losing, it's the fact that they deny everything that they have done and act as if they are completely innocent and then teach their kids ''there is no such thing as a Turkish Cypriot''.

Halil that sounds like it will be a big step for TRNC.

Hundreds of other GCs have lost their lives from TC hands too, since 1958! Most massacres of innocent GC civilians taken as hostages in 1974, were in fact committed by TC paramilitaries, rather than the Turkish troops!

Nil, I have also lost several close relatives in 1974, some of which been murdered by Turkish troops, but I never felt the need to be moaning about it in the forums! It is a fact of life that people from both communities have been murdered, in all the stages of the Cyprus conflict!

but it is not a fight against "Greeks" or "Turks", it is a fight against Intolerance, if we are people first, responsible for our actions as Individuals, as well as Persons.

I do know, for a fact, that were a further round of negotiations in Cyprus to fail, a referendum will take place in the TRNC with the following three questions:

1: Do you wish to seek international recognition of the TRNC with unfettered self-determination ?

2: Do you wish to become a part of the Republic of Turkey ?

3: Do you wish to return to the state of affairs as per the London -Zurich Accords of 1959 and join the Republic of Cyprus ?

Mark my words, the above referendum will take place in the event of any failure to come to a mutually acceptable agreement.

The “TRNC” can have all the “referendums” it wants and that includes a referendum to choose between Talat and Nasreddin Hodja for a TC leader, but that doesn’t mean that anyone else will recognize it.

For gods sake when are you Greek Cypriots going to wake up to the realities that an end-game is now taking place in Cyprus. You are in such a comfort zone concerning your own legitimacy that you are blind as to what this end game will be. International politics has moved on. One state will eventually recognise the TRNC followed by another, then another and another and another and another. It's going to happen so bloody well WAKE UP.

Trust unkie GR when he tells you that recognition of the "TRNC" can never happen even if the whole world wanted to unless the existing UN resolution 541 is revoked...
