Hope You had a Happy 25th March ..... Revolution!

To our Greek brothers in remembrance of their heroic uprising and struggle against slavery ... a symbol of the right to Freedom that we now take for granted ....

Happy Independence from the Ottomans (1821–1829) :D

PROMETHEUS
Byron (1788-1824)
TITAN! to whose immortal eyes
The sufferings of mortality,
Seen in their sad reality,
Were not as things that gods despise;
What was thy pity's recompense?
A silent suffering, and intense;
The rock, the vulture, and the chain,
All that the proud can feel of pain,
The agony they do not show,
The suffocating sense of woe,
Which speaks but in its loneliness,
And then is jealous lest the sky
Should have a listener, nor will sigh
Until its voice is echoless.

Thank you umit ... my mother's memory is not what it used to be (a bit like Deniz's :lol: ) ... so she was a bit upset that she had forgotten the date until reminded (bit late, by me 8) ) ...

Son and hubby thoroughly into the Military Celebrations theme of the day, with much waving of Cypriot, Greek and Scottish :shock: flags ...... :lol:

Bouboulina was Albanian, just like Miaoulis and Kanaris. Odysseas Androutsos too and many others. The Souliotisses, who danced the Zaloggo dance and willingly jumped over the cliffs rather than surrender to the Turks, spoke only Albanian.

Ther above is dedicated to all sick nationalists of the forum.
