Following in Kiks footsteps:

I have never smoked. At the age of twelve an English soldier (trying to be 'friendly') forced me to take a puff off his ciggy. We were then living in Kophinou, where there was a largish Army Camp. He was a young guy. After weeks of pressure I took a puff from his ciggy and coughed for two weeks non-stop. Three years after that , my mother died of lung C. That sealed my fate re: smoking.

I have always loved fresh air. Whenever I am in an environment where smokers are abound, I almost stop breathing. It have since developed asthma I dont blame passive smoking for that - I begin to wheeze whenever I am near a smoker (though he may not be smoking at the time. The stench on thier clothes is enough to trigger me off.

But for one relapse, I have realised that I have never been with a smoking lady. A coincidence? I dont know. If I fancied a girl, I do not recal ever asking if they smoke.(Except the one relapse). She was beautiful but stank.

Deniz--this should be in the reincarnation thread. it is clear the reason you detest smoke is that you died in a fire in your previous life.
admit it.

Sorry to disagree. The bxxxxy English soldier tried to poison me. When I was coughing I was wondering, 'what the hell is this all about'.

At high school, I saw it as a stupid vanity. A group of us friends (high school mates) would go to the shops to buy summer shirts with short sleeves and a single brast pocket. The material of the shirt had to be such that it would hide the 'Logo' but allow a girl to see the shape of a packet of ciggies. They were forced to be discreet as smoking among students was against school regulations, even off school premises.

I just thought they were crazy. I never managed to find out what the girls thought of this 'bravado' action, or whether they were impressed. If GR reads these lines he might enlighten us. HEY GR, WERE GIRLS MORE IMPRESSED WITH SMOKERS?. What a joke it was.

Most of my male cousins are currently interred as a result of various cancers - they were heavy smokers - and left behind vry young families. Sad.

There was definitely a time when non smokers were regarded anti-social, in fact I still see them that way!

Indeed, smoking was one of those teenage “rebellious” things in the 60s, 70s and 80s and young girls were/are always turned on by that.

These days I see them excited over body piercing and tattoos! Who would’ve thought that shoving metal bits up your skin would one day be regarded “cool”? :?

Perhaps shoving a pole up one’s butt might be the trend in 20 or 30 years time  but luckily I won’t be around to see it; I’ll hopefully expire by 60. :D

Thanks for your response GR. Can I assume ,now, that you are a practicer of body piercing? Do you exhibit your hardware on the beaches?
These girls must be nutcases.

Try to get Allen Carr's book: (http://www.quitsmoking.com/books/allencarr/index.htm), (http://www.allencarrseasyway.com/) One of my friend quit after a few pages. She said it's amazing. Time ago I saw some short show on tv about guide- books. They didn't say nothing good about them except this one. I'm not smoking, but even so i would like to read it.
