Re-registering a car

Postby gordonmaria » Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:31 pm

Does anyone know if the cost of re-registering a car after non-payment of road tax for 3 years (not our car by the way) is the same as the original duty?? Any help would be of use.

Where are you talking about UK or Cyp.

In UK you will have to have declared that the car has been off the road so that you won't pay the tax.

In cyp, they will probably make you pay the 3 years worth together with the current charge.

I just Taxed my brothers car and they charged my the arrears. Even though he was in the UK and the car was off the road.

If thats what you mean by re-registering.

Good luck

What size engine does it have? This will determine the tax level.

I'ts Cyprus, bought a car to find that the previous 3 years tax hadn't been paid spoke to road tax place in Nicosia to be told that car had been de-registered and would need registered again by the previous owner before it could be trabsferred to me, guy i bought car from says he had sent money to them & cheque had been cashed.

When i looked at what a car cost to be registered it comes to nearly what I paid for it.

It's a rav4 2.ltr,
