Windsurfing in North Cyprus

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Have just returned from the beach at The Anassa ... People were windsurfing, and it looked fantastic ...

But I don't expect anyone who entertains the idea of the "north" and would consider lowering themselves to mix with the likes of ethnic-cleansing Turks .... could even afford a bottle of water at The Anassa (assuming they made it past the driveway  ) ....

Just to be clear,
I have looked and asked everywhere, there is NO windsurfing in Northern Cyprus. You can find 1 or 2 old boards for hire but that's it.
Anyone in this forum telling you there's is decent windsurf, is lying.

Even if there was, you would probably get stuck in plastic rubbish.

Of course you can come to cyprus by Ercan too... :)

papthitis ..... rotise stous tourkokiprious gia meri shetika me to windsurfing ... avto den exi kamia shesi me tin asimanti kouventoula sou :D

That would be breaking the law. Working in the Aviation industry myself, I can tell you that Ercan is not a legal airport. It does not even meet ICAO airport safety standards. The airline I work for does not even have Ercan on the map.

I will let you talk about your windsurfing now. If you want to argue with me about the legal status of airports, then we can start a new thread if you like.

Whilst I appreciate that you work in the industry, and know far more about this sort of thing than I do, wouldn't it be more accurate to say that Ercan is not a registered airport as far as ICAO are concerned? To say it is illegal depends on who's laws you refer to. ICAO may have rules, regulations and standards but are they "laws"?
