Of course you can come to cyprus by Ercan too... :)

papthitis ..... rotise stous tourkokiprious gia meri shetika me to windsurfing ... avto den exi kamia shesi me tin asimanti kouventoula sou :D

That would be breaking the law. Working in the Aviation industry myself, I can tell you that Ercan is not a legal airport. It does not even meet ICAO airport safety standards. The airline I work for does not even have Ercan on the map.

I will let you talk about your windsurfing now. If you want to argue with me about the legal status of airports, then we can start a new thread if you like.

Could someone share any info about windsurfing in North Cyprus?
Are there clubs or special beaches?
Internet links?
In wich hotels I can rent equipment?
Regards,
Victor.

Hello Wisler,

If you are going to visit the northern parts of Cyprus, be sure to enter Cyprus from either Larnaca or Pafos International Airports as Ercan is an illegal port of entry as deemed by the United Nations and the International Community. I believe there are direct flights from Prague to Larnaca.

The wind surfing on offer in the southern parts (Non Occupied areas) are with out doubt better than what is on offer in the northern parts (Occupied Areas). :)

Paphitis ... take care that you do not sound too controversial and get accused of being racist and bad for the Cypriot cause ....

 Only stating a fact there Oracle. International Civil Aviation Organisation does not recognise Ercan as a legal port of entry. So whoever enters Cyprus through Ercan is breaking International Law as well as breaking RoC laws.

I must apologise if I offended anyone.

Paphitis you are a paragon of virtue ... :D

I hope everybody appreciates this essential piece of information, so that they do not get led astray by those lawless Turks into breaking International Law too!

Illegal only to you....the rest of the world doesn't give a fuck...
Every year thousands of EU citizens fly to Ercan and even cross the checkpoint to ROC.....Why doesn't you authorities try to stop any of them and say they entered the island through an illegal port??
Get over it cos there is sweet FA you can do about it.
So,stop trying to scare people off!!

The airline I work for gives a fuck. We would not land there if we had all 4 engines on fire. We would prefer Larnaca or Pafos. We would not want to jeopardise the safety of our passengers by landing at a safety substandard airport. Our insurance policies will not even cover any operations to this illegal airport.
