so they are opening up ledra by the beginning of next month? turkish troops said to drop back some 50 meters and work done on the buildings for the safety of pedestrians... since 1963 ledras has been closed off this will be very good to see the street open after so many years the city will feel like one. only a month of presidency and more is being done now that christofias is president,

Just hope it actually happens and it is not all talk.

But as i understand turkey has until end of 2009 for eu membership? is that why the turkish side is trying to rush things? they know once the cy prb is solved their eu membership will be much easier to gain.

yeah, looks like a good progress but meeting in 3 months is a bit of a set back don't you think? Were there any new proposals from both sides or same old story with ANAN plan?

Seems to me Mr T has gone back to Anon Plan and Pres X gone back to first principles. Huge, huge gap.

Its a progress compared to the last 5 years of inactivity and empty promises. We can see the nearer the time approaches . The international environemnt is not static and maybe some new proposals will be put in front of us. I have noticed that EU is also impressed with the meeting and this is positive.

Right ... so you have been fobbed off with waiting for at least 3 months before you hear of any progress or not as the case may be ... and you think that is really moving things forward and faster than before....Good grief ... you have the patience of an angel or the optimism of a comedian :?

Wrong ...... optimists lose ... because of the very fact they expect something ... which may never materialise ...

At least with pessimism where you expect the worst ... if you are wrong then at least you have the happiness of a better situation ...... and if not, you at least have the benefit of being right :D

Do you really think that what you perceive has any bearing on reality and outcomes ....
