I remember seeing that footage in the news. Personally, I think that that person knew precisely what risk that he was running by encroaching into the buffer zone, crossing the Green Line and climbing that pole. Martyrdom or stupidity: take your pick...

If that person was given repeated warning - as I have read - then that person was setting himself up for being shot. Turks and Turkish Cypritos are vexillidolitrists (in which they hold their flags incredibly dear). An attack on their flags from any outsiders is not going to be taken lightly.

Setting himself up for being shot?????? What world are you living in? Do you think a flag is more important then a human being? Then you are way out of this fucking world. Arrest the guy and sentence him for not respecting ok.....but shoot him????? Or is beating someone to death with a piece of wood also legitimit. What kinf of barbarian are you?

GC's have been claiming that the Turks are barbarians prior to even coming out of their mothers wombs, you know they won't take your shit let alone allow you to pull down their flag, and yet knowing all this, you choose to antagonise and provoke them and some how expect no repercussion in going down such undesirable paths.

Massacring innocent babies during the more extroverted days of EOKA was also not legit. Look what happened to EOKA's engineers...they got rewarded with monuments and "Presidential" positions. Pathetic really, but expected from our brotherly, loving "compatriots".

Regardless, it was a very unfortunate situation with Solomou & the other guy caught up in the chicken wire. No one deserves to be killed for illegally crossing the border. They should be apprehended and put to court in the offending country and dealt with appropriately :?

Looking at the footage and how unfortunate it was like you are saying.......there is no other word that comes to my mind when looking at it. So if these incidents deserve the repercussions that have taken place......YES....that's barbarian. The EOKA days are long gone....nobody can turn these days back. Everybody needs to get over it and look to the bright side of things. Your last allinea sounds more human and I totally agree there.

Bravo humanist ... we are the only ones that care for both north and south, east and west of our great country.

The filthy schismatic scumbugs that want a piece of it, have proven they do not love nor care for a whole and healthy Cyprus.
