Lemythou ... God bless her

Had a trip through the Troodos today and took a diversion through Lemythou ... It is truly lovely ... the amount of blossom in the area made the mountains look as though they were smattered with snow ...

The air was clean and fresh (a bit cooler than we anticipated  ) ... very bracing ... well worth the diversion. :D

We were also very impressed with Steni near Lyso, en route to Kykko .... and my son was very interested to hear about the EOKA hideouts that were signposted in various places ..... Glad to see they received the mention they well deserved ...

I think the best cypriot villages are Yorgoz (near Morphou).. or Peyia (near Paphos) :)

Peyia is really nice.. modern but also traditional at same time, it's beautiful.

Peyia .... :? ... Really? :? ....

Are you sure you are not just trying to ingratiate yourself with the British constituency ...

xxNilxx .... you suddenly sound awfully mature again ... wouldn't somebody your age (..?..) prefer Ayia Napa ... or some other bright city lights? .......

Next time i hear anyone moaning about Larnaca airport being built on TC land I will remind them of the 3000 plus meter runway of Lefkoniko and ask if any of that was built on GC land. And also ask how come Asil Nadir was chosen as the developer. Is he not wanted in the UK for some financial improprieties?

Thats fine Nikitas, but the RoC is a legal entitiy. Nothing illegal happens there. According to Piratis and perhaps yourself, the south is 'illegal' so whats new?

As far as I know Deniz, when land in the south is used in public works the owners are compensated for the expropriation. The rates are not good, and that is a sore point, but they are equally bad for both GC and TC owners. The TC land in Larnaca airport was expropriated, along with GC land, in this universally unfair manner. The point being that there was no discrimination based on race etc.

Coming to Lefkoniko and this pie in the sky project to build the biggest commercial airport in the area etc, to export the products of the TRNC. Were they any expropriations paid to the owners? When? By who?

Aside from the immediate GC versus TC angle there is another one that is maybe more bothersome, the creation of businesses on "cost free" resources thus building false economies which at some point, someone will have to cover financially. One of the things life has taught me is that real wealth is created, not taken. Creators get rich everywhere, takers usually leave debts.
