Great news, the insurance company will pay out, but have to get a report from the police. :D

Contact the airlines assistance department or, your insurance company - they should try to offer you a "mutual aid" seat where possible - but, you usually have to travel back on your original inbound flight so could end up with a shorter holiday than you originally planned for.

Alternatively, if you're not going to travel - why not see if you can sell your inbound flight seats back to UK on one of the forums. As long as the airline will allow a change of names, there should be no problem.

I know i am getting my money back ?? But i can not stop thinking on what i would be doing right now in Cyprus. Nice meal out somewhere. Getting pi??ed ,or just walking around, in polis/paphos.

Do me a fav guys tell me it cold and raining out there plzzzzzzzzzzz. I feel so sad tonight

Police rang me today to say the man in car, is to have an opp today, and should make it, as broke leg and arm. I might go and see him and tell him he can pay for my flight  Only joking.

Oh well only another 7 more days back to work :( I off out now for a nice meal. YES IN THE UK. At least the man is going to be ok, that made me feel a bit better, as he must have had kids,he was about 40ish. night night

Having been fortunate so far in never having been delayed to miss a flight I can still feel the frustration tha Mark must be feeling. I am very conscious of the potentail problem though as most insurances specifically exclude missed flights due to traffic unless travellling on public transport.

It might just help if the police are able to confirm the reason for the delay and the time but few insurance companies are likely to move from the strict wording of the policy but good luck. Give it a try.
