If there were no random thoughts then all the brilliant inventions/art/novels would not exist. A random thought can spark off a meaningful creation.
Why does questioning a life less lived, make you think only of its ending.
One should be thinking of ways for its improvement ...
However, it would appear to be a predictable response from a dreamer, hoping there is some reason for their existence. That by merely thinking that they "think" they are assisting the sum of Human knowledge.
It's a common misperception to underestimate the toil, preparation and foresight that is the "spark" for creativity. We wish to equate ourselves with the Geniuses, and so excuse our simple survival-thoughts for potential life-changing contributions.
The real Geniuses toiled and laboured despite their superior brains in order to create.
Serendipity requires a receptive, prepared mind ....
