You Wrote:First of all Andros...The land does not belong to the "RoC" but to the CYPRUS REPUBLIC which does not exist any more. Secondly.....How can you have a legitimate crossings in a "Cease fire line"...There can only be crossings at a border!!!!!TCs cross over by showing their passports and not waving a white flag
Firstly, I am not going to argue with you, as I believe the stand I take on the Cyprus issue is a practical one. The point you've made on the "Showing passports" on the Border! is a serious one, and one President Christofias needs to address at the shortest possible time.
Via some mystical means, the previous Cyprus governments (Probably from Clerides) have seriously miss-calculated the crossings issue, thus today we are having to deal with this miss-justice of affairs. The Crossings-over certainly do raise many serious political questions regarding its legitimacy - which leads me onto the very issue of the need to close all checkpoints until a settlement is reached.
The is a call to the CYPRUS GOVERNMENT, please think about what you are really doing regarding the Ledra Check point recently announced of its proposed opening, as there will be no turning back. Please do not entertain Turkish Cypriots like Zan and their foul-mouthed so-called Turkish Cypriot PM Ferdi Soyer, who clearly can't stop chanting hatred words at the Cyprus Republic and our Cypriot MEP politicians. Zan's stance is a serious one brothers and sisters, where it is Turkish Cypriots like him who are somehow finding the hearts of the true Greek Cypriot believers of a united federal Cyprus structure.
Those goodwill gestures - like opening checkpoint, starting direct-trade across the cease-fire line and many, many more are the very "Turkish" building blocks sought by Turkey in pushing the Recognition of their so-called "TRNC". It must be stopped, do not allow this stealth pressure to poison the minds of all Cypriots living in the Republic of Cyprus.
Solution first!
I have dared them to close the border many times and I do it again......The point is that they can't...It was part and parcel of joining the EU and it is also part of the lie that you represent the TCs.
By the way....Who will administrate the Ledra street crossing if it is opened....This is not the case of a simple crossing but a whole street with shops in.......Under whose jurisdiction will it fall???
