Difference between Division and Partition?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby shahmaran » Fri Mar 14, 2008 1:30 pm

Sure just close the borders and let us be, you will not get 1 dime from us ever again and eventually we will be recognized or annexed.

What is it that you really want, partition or unification? Because if it is the latter than you are following a very twisted idea of it, "divide first in order to unite" where the hell do you come up with such rubbish?!

We figured that if we divide and integrate you enough times you’ll end up disappearing…

We have had partition and effective annexation of the north by Turkey since August 1974. There is no such thing as TRNC etc. What there is in the north is a de facto province of Turkey. The rest is dressing to conceal this simple and obvious fact. The real center of power in the north is the commander of the occupation force, the economy is run from Ankara and the currency is the New Turkish lira. The rest is all daydreaming by the TCs who post in here.

The TCs here think that the situatio is irreversible and that the GC can do nothing about it. That is until the south is forced to become a province of Greece and then we will have a whole lot of crying going on. It is easy to be a tough guy when you can always pop south and get an ID and passport and full EU status. If that were ever to be cut off then they would wake up to to what partition really means when it works both ways.

Good question, and a tough one I may add. We'll, it's clear that someone is promoting the fall of the Division before an official solution. Also, isn't it a coincidence that the first opening of the Cyprus "Cease-fire line" was recommended by former TC leader Mr Denktash!

And, please remember, it's NOT a "Border", but a "Cease-Fire" Line. If you call it a border, that means that we accept the so-called TRNC! While, a "Cease-Fire Line" means the split of the Republic of Cyprus, thus the "TRNC" does not exist!

The call by the Turkish Cypriots to declare the "Cease-Fire Line" a "Border" recently in Brussels is another one of their tactics of recognition of the present so-called "TRNC".

Therefore, my answer to your question is as following, the pulling down of the so-called "Division" of the Cease-Fire line before a Cyprus resolution is just Dentash's way of forcing the acceptance of the so-called "TRNC". This is actually a serious matter for our Cyprus government that has seriously been overlooked. Do they not know what they are doing?

As for what I would recommend, I would close all check points and use our European Membership influence to demand Turkey's removal of its troops and the return of the northern territory with the Republic of Cyprus. I know it may sound unrealistic in today's messed-up stance of events, but that's who says the truth doesn't hurt. Turkey took advantage of a weak moment in Cyprus history and has dragged this issue to what the UN wants to re-introduce as the "Annan Plan" scenario. In my opinion, the UN Process is a seriously undemocratic demand of the "People" of the Republic of Cyprus.

I say people, as we have all Cypriots and foreign nationals living in the ROC, even Turkish Cypriots.

First of all Andros...The land does not belong to the "RoC" but to the CYPRUS REPUBLIC which does not exist any more. Secondly.....How can you have a legitimate crossings in a "Cease fire line"...There can only be crossings at a border!!!!!TCs cross over by showing their passports and not waving a white flag

There we go again...Zan against the rest of the world. The country is a member of CN, CE, CFSP, EBRD, EIB, EU, FAO, IAEA, IBRD, ICAO, ICC, ICCt, ITUC, IDA, IFAD, IFC, IHO,ILO, IMF, IMO, Interpol, IOC, IOM, IPU, ITU, MIGA, NAM, NSG, OPCW, OSCE, PCA, UN, UNCTAD, UNESCO, UNHCR, UNIDO, UPU, WCL, WCO, WFTU, WHO, WIPO, WMO, WToO,

and Zan says it doesn't exist. You'd be crap in war mate...eveyone would be screaming at you to watch out for that grenade and you'd insist its a pineapple.

Home made bombs made by the EOKA came in all sizes and shapes. Dont you remember? May be you were not yet a sparkle in your fathers eye then.

You are the one talking about pineapples. Killing intruments are no joke. GC should know. We have found out a long time ago. You cannot dismiss others experiences of strife in Cyprus. This is our (GC and TC ) lives and cannot dismiss Zans or anybody elses experiences of terror lightly.

At best DT, the "RoC" exists on it's own land which is 63% of Cyprus........If that is the case then the TRNC/KKTC exists on the other 37%. The CYPRUS REPUBLIC was destroyed and hangs in space and time as an entity that you guys use only when it suits you....The CYPRUS REPUBLIC was formed with the Zurich Agreement and it's unique constitution intact...None of those exist ergo neither does the CYPRUS REPUBLIC......This is not rocket science.....We just have to iron out the details.........Why doesnt the so called "RoC" take the TRNC/KKTC to court over land issues instead of fronting the scam with individual cases

As far as I know every offer made to Turkey to solve this through the ICJ has been turned down by Turkey for some reason. Unofortunately the ICJ can only rule on 2 countries if they both apply to it.

Wonder why Turkey keeps refusing to go to the ICJ?
Wonder why Zan keeps shooting himself in the foot?

Why is it that you and GR and that crazy woman think they win when clearly you lose

So now you are telling me that you want a state that you do not recognise to come with you and negotiate with the ICJ :?     Of course I am talking about the TRNC/KKTC which is whom you are dealing with........ 8)

Shut up you tart   I followed on from an every day saying about giving enough rope which has no reference to real hangings   You really are playing every card you have up your sleeve to bad effect mate     Did that argument you have with GR go something like this......."You made a hash of it GR and Zan is still there"....."Well see if you can do better then. The guy is too good for me"......"I'll show you how it's done. I will make mincemeat of him in a week"........I bet you won't" ...."You are sacked GR. Clear your desk now and leave the bunker".....
