The BUDGET..

Postby purdey » Wed Mar 12, 2008 1:34 pm

Today is the day the UK Government decide on new ways of taking our hard earned money off us.
The theme as always will be how to kickstart the UK economy and make living in the UK fairer for all.

Maybe this post should have gone under the jokes section of the forum.

Ah yes... All the MPs will be crowded in there for the show – bars, restaurants and brothels throughout Westminster will be empty for a couple of hours… :x

Yep...they've got the right idea. They're gonna raise taxes on wine apprently to stop binge drinking!!! How many chardonnay sippers do you know that come from Newcastle??

Thats the spirit Gordo! Keep kicking out the British in the UK to make room for the Poles. Cyprus will be full soon so best get Malta standing by.

I am sitting watching it now.So far he has put the child allowance up to £20 so that will be even more money going to children living in other countries from fathers working in the UK and paying miniscule tax on their earnings! There is also a charge suggested for non domiciles so that should make a few cheeks twitch!! I watched a porgram last night about migrant workers mainly from the Balkan states and Eastern Europe.I was astonished to see that working 2 miles from here(i am in lincolnshire now) they are earning £7 per hour picking vegetables! One said he earned £2000 per month.Imagine my feelings when I compare my 60 year old husband with 40 years experience driving an hgv class 1 vehicle at £5.52 per hour!!! There is just no fairness for hard working brits and it is no wonder we are leaving in droves!

Unfortunately having had a quadruple by pass op and suffering from athiritis he could not do the job,but iff he could he would and he could also learn a couple of foreign languages while on the job! He could then earn a real wage from the government to do interpreting!

Nothing good in the budget if you smoke, drink or drive a car !

The following regarding car tax will make you think twice about your next vehicle ...............

From April next year, the drivers of the most polluting cars will pay vehicle excise duty of £440.

Then from April 2010, people buying new models that are the most polluting will pay vehicle excise duty of £950 in their first year of owning the vehicle.

After that they will then pay vehicle excise duty of £455 per year.

Those buying vehicles classed as the second-most polluting, will pay £750 in the first year and £430 per year thereafter.

The UK is only catching up with Cyprus in terms of taxation on large engined cars; this year I paid 491 Euros (GB£376) for one of my cars and it used to be higher.
