What will you lose

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Glafcos Clerides, now the President of the Greek Cypriots, said at the time "we the Greek Cypriots are in full control of the Government. All the Ministers are Greeks. Our government is the only one recognised internationally - why should we bring the Turks back in? The Turks today control only 3% of the land. They have no rich resources and they are living through difficult times from an economic point of view. They will ultimately have to accept our point of view - or go."

It is a quote of the time not of the present you moron...

Greek Cypriot policy after 1963 was summarised as follows in Fileleftheros on 20 September 1992: "we the Greek Cypriots are in full control of the Government. All the Ministers are Greeks. Our government is the only one recognised internationally—why should we bring the [Turkish Cypriots] back in? The [Turkish Cypriots] today control only 3% of the land. They have no rich resources and they are living through difficult times from an economic point of view. They will ultimately have to accept our point of view—or go."

Big Al:
Growuptc's really left me with some hope that there was some GC's with common sense that could see beyond their nationalistic hopes of a united cyprus....it appears that perhaps he/she is a one off rather than a majority, and even though the namegrowuptc's annoys the shit out of me respect to him/her for being a realist!!!!!

Big Al respects to you my nemesis. It's the serious attitude that we have for one another thats allowed to go on thats a tragedy. No side will ever give up, so all we have left to do is keep spitting spitballs at one another. I'm sick of it but it is what it is.

Growuptc's really left me with some hope that there was some GC's with common sense that could see beyond their nationalistic hopes of a United Cyprus....
